Bowden to perish

Ive said for a long while now that Bowden should play down back. My reasoning was that his slack nature will expose him and he will either play or perish.
A way of getting things sorted once and for all.
Well today I got my wish and it looks like he will perish. He looked clueless at times and pathetic at other times.
Some might say its just the result of selecting someone who has not earnt their spot and they maybe right. Either way the future seems bleak for Pat Bowden.

Didn't think Bowden was the worst and he did suffer a major cork in the first 2 minutes.

I do however agree that the backline is his only chance of having an AFL future with the dogs.

He got shifted around a bit but when he was back I am pretty sure he played on Longmuir who did absolutely nothing so I would say he was pretty serviceable in his main role as a defender.Did some bad things but I think he was better than some of our other tall defenders.

I did watch the game.No question he could do almost everything better but today he was far from our worst and I wouldn't be hanging him on todays game.Without looking at Longmuirs stats I am pretty sure he blanketed him fairly effectively.

Yes there were others who were also bad. The point is these others have had good games of late. Bowden has not had a good game for a fair while now and is playing for his future.
So do you think he will make a backman based on what you saw today?

I didn't see to much today that made me think he cant be a defender.I dont think he was involved in alot of contests to be honest.Longmuir seemed to be a bit lost.His intensity and work ethic are always a concern.

My other concern with Bowden is that if you are playing Bandy and to a lesser extent Murphy in the same side as Bowden then it makes us look pretty average with our attack on the footy.
