"Australians occupy four of the top seven spots in the tournament's bowling standings and Glenn McGrath heads the list with 20 victims at 14.15. McGrath, the World Cup's leading wicket-taker, is only three short of the tournament record of 23 set by Chaminda Vaas four years ago. Shaun Tait is in second place with 16 wickets at 22.12, Hogg is tied for third with Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan and Daniel Vettori while Nathan Bracken, who took 4 for 19 against Sri Lanka, is seventh."

i mean, who would have thought they'd see that published while all the lemmings were wailing and gnashing their teeth about our bowling attack leading into the WC?

peace

All those players play for Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The only three teams in the comp that have actually looked like they have a chance to win it. Coincidence???

This is also a reflection of the poor quality pitches prepared for this WC.

Teams with the better attacks are able to exploit these conditions.

interesting to note as well of the 8 games we've played, the aussies have bowled out the opposition on 7 occasions.

the only team we didn't bowl out was bangladesh in a rain reduced match of 22 overs a side.

and the bowling was supposed to be our weakness
