Boycott time

You know what? Maybe it's just me, but I would never boycott a Collingwood game. I go to games to support the team. I'm old enough to have seen some pretty lean years; Most of the 80's and the mid to late 90's were very ordinary, but the players deserve to have support for putting on the Black & White stripes each week and trying their guts out, and has nothing to do with the Coaches or the Board Members. Yes, I'm unhappy about where we are at the moment, but I don't see how boycotting games does anything but harm the Club, and I'd never do that. So I'll just keep going to games and supporting them like I should.

Having said that, people are free to do whatever they want, it's their choice. I just wouldn't do it.

I have only Gone to 4 games this year.... use to go to every game but ever since bucks took over my passion for Collingwood and the game has wained. I have better things to do that watch a shit Collingwood play and lose week in week out. Will start going when we get a new coach. Will still buy my membership so I M supporting the club but not going to any more games. This is eddies last chance if the pies do not show any improvement in the next 3 years the Eddie can piss off too
If we get a new coach but continue to lose and play unattractive football, will you still go to games?

the list simply isnt up to it, replacing the coach isnt going to fix it, especially if hes replaced just for the sake of it. there needs to be a better coach available. dont see the point in boycotting.

Lol for some people replacing Buckley as coach is a holy crusade and promises to end starvation and political correctness:rolleyes:

Yeah, pretty much this.

The only reason I would boycott Collingwood games is if the club started engaging in activities that I'm ideologically opposed to (funding terrorism, child labour, running guns, etc, etc). It certainly wouldn't be anything footy related ...

... although that recent article discussing potential senior coach candidates made me see that my passion would wane a bit if Michael Voss got recruited to senior coach.

Our club has been hihacked, Ed is going to try everything to get Buckley another contract and you can take that to the bank, the time has come to give this administration the big thumbs down.

Not sure there is any point to boycotting. Games have been dead and with no atmosphere for at least 2 seasons now and the club would know that. If you just find us boring to watch and don't wanna go fair enough, never yawned so much at the footy in my life.. just not sure a boycott organised on here would actually have that much impact. For memory only 20k rocked up to that freo game last year and here we are 12 months on.

We are Unbearable to Watch at the Moment

Truth is we have become very boring to watch.
I remember the days when watching a game I would get all excited, frustrated, scream at the telly, holler abuse and two minutes later scream admiration.
Now I just shake my head as the team chips it sideways and backwards, waiting for the inevitable turnover. Hang my head at lame arse attempts to tackle not to mention the expectation that we will miss easy shots on goals.
I don't think supporters need to boycott. I think many will just stop going because it is not so enjoyable anymore more so than for political reasons.

This a million times. I'll always support the club and maybe get a 3 game season ticket, but I have no urge at the moment to go to the ground more than that. The matches aren't as exciting because of the way we play.

Gone are the days that I'd shell out for 5 captain's memberships a year (son, daughter, dad, brother, & myself).

There is no need to boycott, it seems the club is doing its best to implode.

I would need a complete blood transfusion to boycott and don't really think I could go through the procedure.

Too late for me, I will be there Saturday.

Me to but up for Punishment

You've made your thoughts clear jonbe, now let the people who really love this club do what has to be done, the Sad Sacks are not willing to wait another year for change.
Perhaps I am misjudging you Frank - are you announcing you are rolling your sleeves up and working for the club in any capacity that will help achieve the goal of every true supporter?

The Sad Sacks have been active on social media for years, i am a founding member, we want what's best for the club but were severely hamstrung on Nicks, our very name was added to the swear filter and perma bans were threatened, we aren't a pussy organisation like the Knights of Abbotsford.

Oh I see, active on social media . . . well I'm certain that is of immense benefit - I can see instantly that you have done an immense amount of good for the club and am astonished that Nicks could have misjudged you all so badly.

Social media (in case you didn't know) is the greatest weapon we have, it's where pressure comes from, pressure filters down from social media to the real media, social media platforms shouldn't be able to dictate reasonable content, the great Lollipop war of 2013-16 saw the Sad Sacks severely hindered on Nicks due to the Sunshine and Lollipop brigades constant whinging and whining but now many of them are crying for change, go figure.

Social media is a club for those interested in social grandstanding, actually working within the club to promote positive change is a worthwhile exercise but not favoured by those more suited to parading their discontent in a closed clique.
Change is secured by those willing to WORK for it, NOT harangue those who have to do the heavy lifting.
Right or wrong those who give up their time and effort have far more credibility than those ranting for change but unwilling to get their hands dirty.

I understand your frustration and acknowledge your passion but social media is pussy stuff compared to actually doing something.

There is an old, old saying in the film industry . . .

"Those that can act . . . . act. Those that can't . . . criticise.

We might win this one, it's like expect the unexpected time.

Might but I am not sure IF a win is the Best for Us as we are not making Finals now
