What are peoples thoughts of his chances of going to the Carribean.

Would be a monty if they want to take a 2nd keeper over there.

If I remember right, Michael Hussey is someone that is no sloush with the gloves and if the Aussies want to take an extra batter over there, Haddins chances look very thin.

If ever there was a case for taking a second keeper who doubles as a batsman, it's now. Averaging 49 at FC level and 72.6 at one-day level, he's having a belter of a season, and could stake a legitimnate claim as a bastman alone... but being a keeper this probably slips the mind of most.

Coupled with the national team having a 35-36 year old keeper who hasn't been rested at any stage, and whose batting has been inconsistent, I would support Haddin being among the 15.

There's not much separating the batsmen-in-waiting based on form (White, Hodge, North, Rogers, Haddin), but White's part-time bowling, and Haddin's ability to keep wicket might make them appealing options.

.

Give Gilly a spell in the preliminary games against the minnows and let Hussey or someone don the gloves for a game or 2.

Gilly gets to recharge his batteries and we don't have to waste a space on a reserve keeper who wouldn't get a game anyway.

My 2 cents worth.

I think he has to go. Voges hasn't earnt a spot yet, is far too inconsistent and I'm not sure is capable of playing the big innings. Him and Hodge are the 2 form ODD batsmen not regularly in the ODI side, so with Symonds out they become automatic selections IMO. Especially with Watson no where near it.

huh? Watson's an absolute monty to be named, esp with Roy injured.

Haddin would be the 2nd reserve batsman, his batting alone puts him in the running, keeping a bonus that covers us if Gilly gets sick or injured. If he makes the squad, maybe they should take him to NZ for Chappell-Hadlee, give Gilly a rest.

Occasionally when he is bowling the wicket keeper is useless anyway. :p

You could take that either of two ways there.

Yeah, he keeps on taking out middle stump

He will go to the Carribean as the substitue keeper for Gilchrist; he's not good enough to make the 15 man squad as a batsman alone. He's very reliable behind the stumps and he's won plenty of games for New South Wales over the years in both forms of the game. In other words, he's a safe bet.

Haddin is being jewed. He should be playing at No 7 ahead of White.

Watson is a monty for nothing. He hasn't played cricket in months. He has no form behind him at all.

Haddin would be a waste of a spot. If Gilly can't play the entire World Cup without needing a rest he should retire now.

The idea of playing Haddin as a stand alone batsman is a stupid one. Plenty of better batsman out there.
What crap. Haddin is the form batsman not currently playing for Australia in limited overs cricket. You're right there are plenty of other batsmen out there, but they aren't as good as Haddin, so what's your point?

I think you've got across the message you hate White by now.

You never fail to produce lies whenever your precious lovechild is criticised, don't you?

God forbid I actually want a proven player in for the World Cup. It's just too much to ask.

3/60 and 46* in a side that completely collapsed, what...a week ago?

That's OK.
If we're gonna start picking OK players then why not pick Craig Phillipson, David Bandy and Damien Wright? I mean come on, I could name 15 more deserving players right now. Watson is a turnip.

Did very well in the ODI Player voting. Seems better judges than you think otherwise.
