Miller is a done deal, as an mature age rookie. Can play on a promotion basis. Tigers will look to offer (depending on injuries), 8- 12 games for 2011 season.

mate 8/ 12 games you are jokeing the bloke can not play for shit

Harsh judgement Doobie! Someone that can't play for shit does not accumulate 133 games for an AFL club with a return of 89 goals, including leading goalkicker in 2008. He tore 'em up in the VFL last season averaging 3 goals per game.

Exactly!

Besides the above comments, he was the main target at the Dees during a mostly non competitive era for the club and still did ok. He will not get the best defender with us, thanks to Jack, and I suspect he will suprise a few.

My prediction is he will play more games than not and will come 2nd in our goal kicking on 40 odd goals.

must have been watching the wrong bloke for the last ten years dont now how he got delisted 89 goals 133 games fantastic return for a key forward as i said shit

You're on an MT level of delusion with this post. Keep living in dream world.

Geez negativity. He is a beast! and he will kick some goals and i'd put money on him kicking more than our 2nd best this in 2010! For heavens sake we are not replacing jack or benny. He is going to play a decoy role and for jack... look at the photos they have on facebook on RFC. He will take a fair bit to stop!

i agree cobba the bloke is a pea nut and couldn't play footy if he fell over 1... if we waste a trade on him and not pick up a kid the richmond football club has rocks in thier head their heads!!! the bumb ass couldn't get a game with melbourne when they were at rock bottom take a look at yourselfs he couldn't teach shit.

Not sure where the idea that Miller is bookmarked to play any specific number of games comes from.

From an interview on SEN last month, dimma said;

* Miller - Been training with us for only the past 2-3 weeks. Outstanding individual; provides leadership and presence around the club. Effectively a on-field coach for us. Key forward are a unique breed with their body and Brad's already been working with Postie. The number of tips he's passed on I struggled with as a nuggety back-pocket. Brad may play one game; he may play no games; he may play 15 games. Hard to say. We get though a terrific character and someone who can come in and compete straight away. For a rookie pick wherever he falls we fell we'll have a win with that one.
MY impression is that all going to plan, Miller will hardly play a senior game, if any at all.

Talkingfooty, I think you need to change change your name to talkingshit.

....firstly....i must commend you for posting garbage that absolutely makes me (hopefully i am not alone!) cringe with embarrassment when i read it...:thumbsu:...

...that doesnt happen often so take a bow!...:p...

...secondly...i'm thinking your poor biological partners must have been hoping for something better to come out of the gene pool than your ineffectual dribbles...what were you thinking?!?!......

...thirdly...please do us all a favour and go post that dribble on the melbourne clubs board!...;)...

I and the marketing department and Richmond would like to welcome Pia to Tigerland. I personally invite Pia for a one on one discussion at my place at any time she would like to :D

:thumbsu:Put simply, should the situation and form warrant it, Miller will play seniors - just like any other player on our list proper or rookie list.

I'm confident he can be a significant contributor and add a bit of bulk and grunt to the forward line.

Griffiths and Vickery in particular - and Riewoldt - could benefit a lot by having Miller alongside them.

Let's face it, most of us hold high hopes for Griffiths, his contribution in five games last season was minimal. I understand all five games he played in were wins - I believe that to be more coincidence than a crucial factor.

Seriously, some people on here neeed to pull their heads in and stop wanting players to be ineffectual -particularly any player that comes to us via another club. Have a little faith in Hardwick and the recruiting team!!!

I guess we will see Barnzy, but right now noone can argue he is our 2nd best KPF going into the season.

Also some need to remember his modest goal per game return is clouded due to not always playing as a forward.

It's not hard when most of them have played 10-20 games. If Miller plays 1 single game in the seniors over a kid for any reason other than injuries then it's automatically a shortcut. Hardwick made a promise several times he won't take shortcuts.

Also Miller will never kick 40 goals, his best in a season is low 20's. He's very very average.

If Hardwick is trying to teach the forward 6 a style of play and Griffiths goes down then I'd have Miller come in ahead of any kid who isn't ready and would force the forward 6 to play differently.

That isn't a short cut that is the long term view. Miller isn't even considered important enough to warrant a senior list position, he's there to give time to the younger forwards to develop and slot right in when they are fit or ready.

Miller is not in the long term plan on field. No point stressing.

If he plays games over a kid other than for injuries than yes it is a shortcut. Just spinning it if you think otherwise. He's taking senior development away from them in that case. Should only get a game if 3 of Riewoldt, Post, Vickery and Griffiths go done all at once.

How is it a shortcut if the club know he won't be on the list i two years time? He's not in our long term and won't be in our premiership team. He's their to cover injury and to allow others to develop. That's not spin that's how it is.

We have the second youngest list in the AFL. This is not a shortcut it's a stop gap to buy us the time we need to get our young forwards right.

Such a narrow, naive view. There's more to development than just playing kids 24/7.

Yeah, when rebuilding playing a mature age Melbourne reject over 3rd year talls like Post and Vickery who need senior development would be good move. :o

Good. He's not in our future plans then he shouldn't play over those who are unless for injuries. Pretty simple.

Asking kids to take on too much responsibility when they're not ready is not logical and would hinder development. I don't see how you can argue otherwise.

Post and Vickery are ready.

Both should be aiming to play most games this year. Having Miller is the way is not ideal so he can step behind them in the queue.

So you're getting upset about things that haven't even happened yet? And in all likeliness will not happen? Where's the evidence that he'll be put ahead of those players?

What's the point of getting shitty about it now when for all you know he may play VFL all year except for two or three games (or no senior games at all)?
