While I'm loitering in Tiger territory...may I be the first to annouce to the board that Brad Ottens will be back in June.

He's got a prolapsed disc in his back and is having 10-12 off.

Richmond has been rocked by a back injury to star big man Brad Ottens, that will keep him out of the side until about round 10.

Ottens is suffering from a prolapsed disc and will undergo surgery in Melbourne on Wednesday night.

It is the latest disappointment for a player who was looking forward to bouncing back in 2003 after an ordinary season in 2002

Ray Hall is going to have to step up.

Jay schulz will have to get out his bag of tricks too....so much or apprenticeships...welcome to the big time. may be an option to keep richo at chf and use Joel bowden as full forward.

Agood team will keep their eyes on the ball.

remember

remember how that idiot kept turning up posting up threads " 9 talls isn't enough...won't cut the mustard...not enough/....warning, warning, warning...what about injuries ????'

looks like he (and it was me) might have been right...maybe ricky mott might havebeen a good pick in the pre-season draft after all.

i'm e-mailing richmond saying : told you so

good opportunity for schulz though...not time to panic...but if any more talls go down...buy some skiing gear.

its all well and good to say we should have picked up mott but you have to question why sydney who are just as void with talls as we are would delist him in the 1st place.
last years draft was very slim pickings as far as talls go you dont pick a tall because he,s tall.
we learnt that lesson from lounder.

cheers!

cheers right back at you TOO...and you make good points BUT nothing can alter the fact that richmond have 3 empty lockers in the change rooms. Now those lockers might be just as mobile as Lounder...but they can't take a grab.

Homewood, Steinfort and Mott would be better than 3 empty lockers and no-one in their right mind can refute that.

Actually, I would be tipping the locker has more ability than Homewood.....

I liked big Paddy, especially as a big, natural leader like Primus - pity his body couldn't hold it together for any more than a few weeks at a time.

Another option here may be Ty Zantuck. He is a similar size to Bowden - probably stronger in the body - and has shown that he has the knack of finding the ball up forward. Only problem is his finishing - though this too can be worked on. Zantuck actually has all the equipment to fill an Aaron Hamill type role for us.

Agreed, he also has a defensive attitude to his game and unlike Bowden, Richo and Pettifer will fight for the ball on the ground to keep it in the forward line.

For the same reasons I also like Matty Rogers up forward. Believe it is his best position.

I think however they will opt for Bowden or Pettifer. If so, get ready to watch the footy being regularly swept out of our forward line.

homewood wasn't developing too badly before his shoulder problems occured..
As for ottens as someone else said the forward line shouldnt be too bad but the ruck? relying on someone like stafford to carry the ruck for most of the year we are stuffed..

Im.... Speachless.

OMG WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO US? WE LOSE HIM NOW THERES TWO ON RICHO AND OMG WE ARE... DOOMED?

No seriously theres nothing to worry about... we will live. Maybe... I Hope... Please... nup, we are dead.

2004 looks good though. =)

Can you trade in ur membership for $$$? JK id never do that.
