I was thinking that we are right at the beginning of a "brave decision" period. Some have already been made and there might be more to come.

What are some of the great brave decisions made by Hawthorn which have paid off?

Trading Croad is mine. Got Hodge. Got a threepeat (plus a fourth one where Hodge gets his first Normie). And to make it even better - we got Croad back anyway.

I thought Ron Cooke's decision to appoint Allan Jeans as senior coach was brave and inspired.

We'd only appointed Hawthorn people up until then. John Kennedy talks about it in the Birds of Prey doco.

Especially when at the time it was a well known fact that chicky wanted to go home, and Trent wanted to stay. Great decision by the club.
