Hard disagree. I love how they let him support who he wants to.

As a father, if one of my kids supported a different team, I would be extremely disappointed but supportive hahah.

Fortunately he hasn’t worn the Collingwood jumper near me yet though..
Our son was influenced to barrack for Collingwood by family friends when he was young young. When the Buckley vs Malthouse thing happened he realised Pies were shit so he went GWS in their 1st year. "I want to barrack for a club I chose not Mum's friends "... I wwsblicky enough to get GF tickets and take him. He loved mixing with their cheer squad b4 and after, they were based at the pub across from our hotel. He's also taken.me to GWS v Crows for my Bday (we won). He's managed to wangle himself a gig holding their banner on AO by going up to their cheer squad pre game. It's so wholesome.

Our daughter, much younger than him automatically went for GWS beacuse of him and Power because of school and Port were up and Crows down. Since coming to a few Crows games, shes settling in as a Crows fan.

Let kids be kids.

GWS actually have a cheer squad?

I'd always assumed they were locals being dressed up and paid a few bucks to act as one

The bay my group sits in on level 3 of the Southern stand, several rows behind us are owned by the club. We get players, family, WAGs and other guests sitting there.. I regularly have Ellie Walker and the kids sitting directly behind me, for example.

On Friday night I was blessed to have Brayden’s mum sitting in the seat directly behind me. Absolutely lovely lady. Was beaming ear to ear when talking with me about her son immediately after the siren.

Brayden is from the Bonython family, or one of those. Cousin is Harley Barker.

Hope we're keeping a close eye on his recovery / contract situation

Cook on one wing and Barker on the other please

Interesting tidbit in the AFC article about Cook's kick:

Him and Welsh both worked together in the off-season to improve their fitness. It's definitely paid off for Cook, now over to Welsh.
The club website highlighted his running numbers on Friday night - second most distance covered behind Keays. Definitely part of the huge improvement this year.

That last line so much 🙏

Mine are like old souls already but they grow up too fast. I will soon have a 15 year old 😳

haha, its an interesting one. i have 2 kids that have lived most of their life in brissie or nth nsw so they have seen a lot more of brissie playing than the crows (lions members for last 4 yrs etc). but they arent stupidly passionate (as we all are - more just casual fans). i just tell them the hard and fast rule - perhaps one of the most critical as a father - is when they are with me and the crows are on tv or watching at the ground they MUST support our team - otherwise stay at home

My lad lives there and is anti-rugby so looks for our games when possible.

I said ask Mum to get a Foxtel subscription.

And so it seems that our Brayden is more than just a nice kick.

The double dodge, back spin hippy hippy shake and get free move in the back pocket on Sunday displayed something new.

Is there an inside game in the Cookie Monster? Hmmm?
I'd love to see him bursting out of the centre square, Max Holmes style. He's got jets and a great ability to get through congestion quickly and likes contact and his kicking is penetrating. It's not his known strength but I reckon he could do it, especially with some nice taps from Stretch, he'd be leaving many for dust. His improvement has been enormous.
