Brayshaw vs Nicholas

Pretty obvious from this Test match that Brayshaw is much better than Nicholas as the anchor for the cricket, time to send Nicho back to the old Dart and elevate 'Braysh' into the top job, make it happen Kerry.

Brayshaw's alright. Well spoken and clearly enjoys his cricket, having played.

But gee he overstates a lot of things. Just like he does with footy, as does his mate Luke Darcy.

I find him quite annoying once he goes on a tangent about how "supremely elite, athletically gifted" Starc is, for example.

Nicholas is pure class. I could listen to that guy commentate all day.

Nothing wrong with Nicholas. Brayshaw is OK but at times can sound like he is commentating on the football.

They're both pretty good, obviously with a few annoying traits, but compared to Heals, Slats and Captain Obvious himself, Chappell, they're worth their weight in gold.

Not sure about Brayshaw being the anchor but he's good value, knows his cricket and has a good sense of humour. Been a breath of fresh air in this test from the usual Nine commentary team.

Don't really mind Nicholas all that much either though, if Brayshaw should replace anyone it should be Healy.

Keep em both and weed out some of the other dead wood, just like the Aussie selectors should do (ie: Haddin)

As a commentator I prefer Brayshaw. He doesn't feel the need to talk ALL THE TIME like all the other younger commentators.

I'd keep both Brayshaw & Nicholas and dump Healy though.

wonder if a cricket panel show similar to the footy show would work. a more light hearted look at the game. might allow us taxpayers to get to know the players more, get to know them more than the media trained persons they seem to be.

Yeah, I cringed at that. For years the general consensus is that fast bowlers get carried away in Perth with the bounce and they need to pitch it up more. You only have to look at the first Indian innings to see that. Not good enough for Brayshaw it seems. Like he'd know.

I haven't enjoyed listening to him at all. Much prefer Nicholas.

The problem is that the commentators are massively over exposed; it’s the same guys over and over again.

Guys like Slater and Healy are fine when they are not talking massive amounts of shite. Problem is that they are on all summer and they talk more and more shite the longer the series goes on. Brayshaw comes in and is a refreshing change, but guaranteed he would be as annoying as hell if he did every game.

They obviously need to keep a core group but I wish they would rotate commentators around more. Unless they are super talented listening to the same few guys drone on and on gets really annoying. It’s much more interesting to hear some different points of view from time to time.

Love Brayshaw- very polished performer, good sense of humour, very knowledgeable about cricket and a good caller.

Like Nicholas- same as above but takes himself too seriously at times haven't really heard much of his sense of humour in the last 5 years. But still really enjoy his work.

Get rid of Healy and keep Chappell to an hour a day.
