On this forum we tend to play the blame game without knowing where the bucks should really stop. Can someone help me out with what each person at RFC is responsible for/accountable for in some detail?

At least then we may be able to pick on the right blokes! :)

E.g.

Senior Coach : Terry Wallace
Accountable to: Board ?
Responsible for : Game day strategy, Player Welfare, List?
Basic summary of influence :
Recruiting : Has input into recruiting but not final say?
List Mangagement : Has big input into list balance etc.
Finances : N/A
Other : N/A

Chief Executive
Board of Directors,
Chairman of the Board,
etc.

Accountable to: Board ? I would say the footall Director. I would say everyone related to the footy department would be responsible to the Football Director who is then responisble to the board.

Dont be so bloody naive, No-one reports directly into the Board apart from the CEO which is Wright. Wallace reports into the Football ops manager, formerly Miller soon to be ?????

The board set the strategic footprint for the RFC everyone else is charged with carrying it out ...If they're out of line , sack'em and find someone that will be on track...simple stuff really

:

do u think this is probably why miller was moved on?

he and wallace were too chummy. Perhaps Miller was too vocal to re-sign wallace for a further 3 years after a couple on wins - and the board realised that they cannot rely on their Football ops manager to report back to them -without wearing jaded eyes?

obviously you want your football ops manager and coach to get along well - but i would imagine you wouldnt want them to be "working together" to try and protect each other from the board.

To a certain extent - you would want the coach to at least fear the football ops manager if things arent going well. perhaps miller was TOO supportive

perhaps the question was asked " are you working for the board on behalf of the Richmond football club Greg, or are you working for your mate Wallace?"

could very well back up millers comments about the board wanting more control over the football department - they may have felt that while miller was there - they had NO control - or even worse, no one playing "parent"?

perhaps Free was installed as the parent (hence why he is now sitting in the box with Wallace ) and Free found out that both Walace and Miller were holding back a lot of information from the board?

just a theory
