I know nothing, and have heard no direct quotes I can offer, but happy to contribute to a new back page for the West based only on rumours and influential discussions.
IMO Goddard and Ross are close. I base this on a theorem of mine I like to call "the Ross Eyebrow Virus". He tends to raise the eyebrows higher on questions closer to the truth. I think when Ross was questioned some time ago on Goddard this theorom came in effect. I saw Goddard in purple at this time and thought this would be the headlines, however the Cloke smokescreen deflected all attention and Ross kept his eyebrows at ease.
Goddard played Captain today, so that is a good move from Watters, but I have the feeling he will not be a Saint for long, in fact I doubt he is even a Catholic - so he will be welcome at Freo - not that I have anything against Catholics.
Seppo, is this quality evidence enough to keep this thread going? Sure it is, but truthfully who gives a football? Not me, I like footballs way to much.

You know, I was quite convinced that Goddard would unlikely come to Freo. I've read all sorts of stuff and have not seen fit to change my mind on that. However, this well constructed treatise filled with sound reason and logic, yet stated in such engaging prose, not to mention the clearly articulated facts backed up with some of the most reputable sources all known for their scholarly rigour, has finally convinced me.
Not only will I bookmark this, I have some contacts and will have this ground breaking work published in some of the most reputable publications in existence.
Finally, I am concerned with your final sign-off. I sincerely hope that is not all. Such a gift must grace these threads all the more. Please don't let this be goodbye.
