If Didak is going to be traded...I would like him to go to Geelong because they will win next years flag again anyway. Better that than send him to Carlton and watch him hold up the cup for them.

So if he is to go anywhere...I'd like Prismal + 1st round for Didak + 2nd/3rd round

Don't forget that their first round pick is likely to be 16. I don't think we need to sweeten it with our 2nd or 3rd for pick 16 and Prismal. We got pick 8 and Medhurst for Tarrant.

But it is a strong draft, and with the GC team coming in, there is a theory teams will not do away with first round picks.

If we got picks 10 & 16 in such a strong draft we have done well. We get to rebuild, and we get a ready made midfielder in Prismall who is tearing it up at the Cattery.

Can't agree with that, Didak was a pick 3 himself, Is proven if you disregard last year due to injury his last 2 seasons have been AA best and fairest and then this year was similar sort of form.

Prismal is very very outside and IMO is almost as far from what we need as possible (his redeeming factor is he can kick.)

If Didak is going Geelong is the last team I want him to go to simply because they are the team who have the least to offer us. Unless it's a straight swap for Selwood.

Don't be too scared of trading picks with this being one of the final unaffected drafts before GC17 and WS18 when its for a what, 22 year old midfielder whose more a sure bet than any midfielder we draft (granted, thats hardly groundbreaking).

Ridiculous to suggest we accept a trade from Geelong involving their first pick + Prismall.

Prismall may be an added boost to our team but he is not the messiah.

We have one already and he wears #4. :p

I've got no issue with chasing Prismall provided he comes relatively cheap.
Lets get Kerr or Brown first.

I'm not so sure that there is going to be a massive hold on draft picks because of GC17 coming in. I know they will have a lot of picks but they will be keen to trade some of them for established players - probably more so than existing clubs with their 1st round picks now.

If we can get Prismall for a reasonable price then let's go for it. If we pick up an inside mid with our first pick then we really could use someone with kicking skills. As I have said previously, I would not want to give up our second rounder for him but we may have to if we do want him.

Maybe then we would need to trade a Cox or Johnson for an early 3rd rounder

I'd prefer we keep Didak....but if we go along the path of trading him, then this would be an option I'd consider. Very hard to get a fair deal with Didak as he is so mercurial and you will never find a player to compensate that.

I hope we keep Didak...however, if a decision has been made to seek a trade...then trying to snare Prismall and a first round pick should get us 2 really good midfielders...one ready made, one future star...add that to our normal first round pick and we have 3 potential mid-field gems.

But keeping Didak plus our first round pick is what I would prefer....my post was simply in the scenario that we are going to actively look to trade Didak.

Those saying "didak for kerr" are off the mark because why would we trade one troubled footballer for an equally troubled footballer. Didak is a star and worth pursuing with.

Geelong could not afford Didak's salary. For that reason a trade that gets him to Geelong is impossible although I think the value is about right.

Those saying 2nd round pick are a little off the mark IMO. You don't get a 21 y/o midfielder that is a walk up start for pick 30.

I think it would take a swap of 1st round picks plus your 2nd rounder.

So estimated:
Geelong: Prismall + 16
for
Collingwood: 10 + 28

Or else a pick between 14 and 20 for Prismall.

I'd expect Geelong will get an offer of about that price from a club should he want to leave.
