Hi guys.

I am just a little interested in knowing what type of player Brent is and if we should have high expectations. I never really payed close attention when he was at Geelong, so I wouldn't mind knowing a little about him.

Cheers.

Gets a lot of it. Lovely kick.

Detractors will say he's not that hard at it and a bit of a one-way player.

Your expectations should be no higher than of any other player coming back from a knee reco. Long term though, you have got yourself a bargain.

Pro: Great user of the footy

Con: Doesn't have the minerals to stick around and tough it out for a spot in the team.

I think he is a lot like Watson, but runs and kicks more
Will equal him in team value in a year.

hmm thats a weird comparison, youve probably seen more of prismall then me but i would say they are completely different players

watson - strength going in an under, creating time in traffic and bringing other players into the game, has had question marks of his disposal, is improving but still needs a lot more improvement

prismall- although he is not incapable of winning his own ball is more of an outside player due to his great skills by foot and hand

Perfect description. They are the similar.
Will take a year for prismall to show a couple of those attributes though

"creating time in traffic and bringing other players into the game"

Prismall isn't an outside player. But he is good at it when he can run with the ball and deliver.

IMO, your assessment is spot on. Saw a lot of both and agree totally with you

FWIW, Buddha Hocking rated Prismall super highly and annointed him with#32. Didn't get a great number of chances to display his courage, and he's no Joel Selwood, but over the long term, could prove to be a real classy hard nut. Moloney who previously had #32, wasn't a bad recipient of that number, and Buddha rated Prismall higher.

he found it very hard 2 get a game in cats line-up
will be first choice for your midfield
all the very very best prissa

He got in. Then ****ed his arm up

He also got in and crunked his knee and was on the cusp of being in our 22 if he wasn't already.

I no longer want our club to be a fracking charity on the trade table with our players.

In 2006 he played in our pre season cup winning side.
He then broke his arm in his senior debut.
In 2007 he broke his wrist.
In 2008 he was going well enough to be picked in our Qualifying Final against St.Kilda.
Unfortunately he did his knee in the first quarter and that was the end for him.

Some of us cat supporters have short memories.
Prismall lacked for absolutely nothing in the courage department.
He has a real touch of class and the comparisons to Watson are not that far off the mark.
He is quick of mind, but not quite as quick across the ground.
The Bombers picked him up for pick 39 in the draft and that may well become a recruiting masterstroke IF he can stay physically sound.

Brent was close to the best kick at the club. His ability to deliver a ball lace out even under presure was as good as the rest of mids. He can also kick long to advantage. Lloyd and Co up forward should be looking forward to his debut.

Sometimes players have to move on. Maloney another example (who got moved on). If both he and Prismall were still with us Djerrkura, Hogan, Gamble would be getting no time in the ones and the list management would be in trouble.

It would have been nice to have got better than pick 39 but knowing Daniel and having seen Marlon Motlop yesterday show he has it - then I am pretty happy to have baby brother on board at that pick.

Good luck Brent - Essendon games will be more interesting from now on.

Some fans would say he wasn't hard enough or had a big enough heart to make the squad; but those are very short sighted and narrow minded supporters.

He definitely had all the skills, just injury paid its toll at the wrong time. Every single time he took the stage, he showed a bit then was brought down by injury.

Silky skills, some of the best passing by foot I've seen in our team. That is saying something. Because we play on a lot, some errors are made. He was not one of those.

I will be following his career over at the Bombers in the hope he gets his chance and gets his dues. Worthy player and the Bombers will not regret the chance to pick him up. Will definitely be one of your best.

The Pris is a highly skilled player. He was unfortunate in terms of his injuries and when he got them and the depth of our midfield.
He dispodes the ball beautifully but has slow leg speed. I cannot see the bombers not doing well with him. Give him 12 months to get over the knee and he will be amongst your leading midfielders.

Yeah he was definitely 'in' at the end of 2008, if he didn't do his knee he would've had a spot in the GF team wrapped up. From round 11 onwards he averaged 24 touches a game, not bad for a 'back up' midfielder. And we all know how beautifully he used the footy...

Besides Jimmy, he was my favourite player, so I was disappointed to see him go. The Bombers got a huge bargain only giving up pick 39, he'll be a gun for them if he can stay fit.

If not for the knee he would have played GF08.

Then the question would be asked - would he have gone to Essendon?

I'm pretty confident he was on the verge of a weekly spot in the Cats team coming to the close of last year.

Always thought he was a beautiful kick but didn't always think quickly enough in the clinches, finding a target with the quick handball etc. Hope he can stay injury free and get a good run with the Bombers.

Was badly missed in the gf - needed someone to kick a few on the run from fifty, which the Hawks seemed to do at will with Young, Dew etc.

Great foot skills, very creative, smooth mover but a little one paced. He not a pure extractor like Watson, Mitchell or J.Selwood but it's not a weakness. Decent overhead but probably doesn't have the speed and agility to play as a forward.

Looking at things optomistically I think he has the potential to turn into a Pendlebury, Dal Santo calibre player. More realistically though he ends up play at a similar standard to what Nick Stevens has produced over the last 2-3 years.

I have big raps on the kid though.
