Played his best game in the red & black last night against his former side.

In & Under and winning the hard ball and winning the free kicks.
I really hope this is the Brent Prismall that hangs around from now on!

gee I dunno... I rarely bag players unnecessarily, but at a crucial time last night he had two massive brain-fades where he held onto the ball too long, one after the other. It was when the two Geelong players ran into each other. Saved his bacon. He just did not get rid of the ball. Then, 5 seconds later he got the ball again, looked at the first option of dishing off to a running player in the clear, froze again, and got tackled. It was appalling.

Having said that, he worked hard most of the night

Honestly I'd rather him, holding onto the ball and taking a tackle and being "pinged" for holding the ball, than butchering the kick. The one where you talk about where the two Geelong players ran into each other, I think that was fantastic of Brent, he was aware of what was coming and was good enough to avoid it.

huh? No he didn't. He got lucky. And then he did it again, 5 seconds later. He just froze mentally.

Has absolutely no awareness of his surroundings and always looks in slow motion. I think he just got lucky the two Geelong players ran into each other. That said, it was a solid game from him.

Look what happens when you play a player in his proper spot. ;)

Brent is contributing, if a 5 second passage of play is the only blight that this whipping boy is copping, then that's a pretty solid performance.

Thought his last two games have been good without being great.

You mean the games where he's been playing as a contested player, not as a spreader?

Matthew Knights, Scott Camporeale, were you watching?

Completely agree.

Prismall SO meant for those players to collide. It was all part of his cunning plan, like when the good guy in a movie ducks a punch and the punch hits the baddie holding him from behind. ;)

I respect you Lance, but unfortunately have to disagree with you there

I'm with you Ricky. I'm happy to back Prismal in for once. If you watch the replay he watches and dodges the player trying to bump him. Not sure if he was aware he was about to be tackled also.

Didn't really rate his game last night and he was probably our worst midfielder.

Can't see last nights performance keeping him in the side with Watson and NLM to come back.

Isn't in our best 22 Kelvin, not by a long way!

Is that you Brett ?

Fair assessment - other midfielders were better - But a more than handy effort.

Don't think it's Brett but it could be Brent........!!!

Sums up what yaco's opinions are usually made on. False information. He has been watching someone else all these years. Lol!

Prismalls output the last two weeks has exceeded or at very least matched NLM's output. Why make uneeded changes? If his form persists, stick with him.

look, I think he was ok, it's probably bad form by me to highlight his two worst moments in a "toast" thread. Pretty hard to criticise anyone after a win like that; but those moments really stood out for me.

Let's just hope he keeps improving hey

So you would agree his output is improving?

I'll second that. He had a solid game but he still has his draw-backs. He is fantastic at a VFL-level, but an AFL-level he is exposed as an average player.
I think his lack of footy smarts and pace are often exploited on the big stage.

definitely. I'm by no means a Prismall hater, I've always had high hopes for him, and he was a contributor on Saturday night. I want the trajectory to keep going up. But I'd also like to see him eradicate the brain fades - it was just weird the way he looked at the running Bomber beside him, didn't act, and got tackled. Maybe just needs to take the first option more often

I agree.

I just think that stigma attached highlights any mistakes, whilst some other players may make the same or worse mistakes and people can live with it.

I think his form in the VFL and the fact that he has been made to earn his spot and came in with confidence is adding value to our side.

I thought that he was good against the Hawks, in a pretty miserable night and very good against the cats. Not outstanding but very good.

I have been a critic of Monfries, but he was excellent on Saturday, and I thought that Melksham and Ryder needed a spell, and they were both brilliant. Which is very pleasing, as everytime Monfries looks like just turning out to be an ordinary player, he puts in a brilliant performance.
