Remember reading a thread last week on Brent Stanton and how someone bagged him for his kicking. On Saturday night he played fantastically IMO, but i remember one particular instance where he took the ball out of the centre and put the ball right out in front of Lloydy where no defender was going to get a hand to it. Brilliant pass.

An anomaly or has he been practising?

God dammit stanton is going to be a superstar

Cant wait for the next 5 years of the Baby Bomber development phase - exciting times ahead Essendon fans, KEEP THE FAITH!

No he's sent a few onto Lloyds ****** with a laser like precision. Just gets fatigued at the moment, a problem that will definitely pass with age/fitness

absolutely agree - his kicking has actually been superb, and people just love to highlight the rare CLANGER and blow it out of proportion

the sydney game was probably his worst this year in terms of kicking. the fact that he is getting praise for his kicking even for that game shows just how much he has improved.

He's not a bad kick any more, this is definitely true.

There's still a query over his decision making - that'll pass with experience.

His decision making declines as he gets tired (happens to all players) and it's little wonder why. The little pr!ck runs his arse off.

Agreed. He's gotta learn sometimes the first option is the best option.

As for his kicking...........a LOT of improvement is still required but will be great to watch his development as he appears to be the kinda bloke who is prepared to work his butt off on the training track in an effort to improve all facets of his game.

Spot on. Especially when he is tired.
Although the positive in this, and the reason I wasn't to upset at him on Sat night when he turned the ball over a couple of times late, is that he is trying to take the game on. He was the only one trying to run the ball and run to position late in the game.

Not really, his kicking is very good. He needs to improve his consistency and his decisions.

Yes.
But someone needs to sit him down and let him know that when he's tired, kick it toward our goals, rather than sideways 50 metres.

Don't get me wrong, the kid will be a gun, but if you're kicking to a contest, choose the contest as far forward as you can kick it.

I guess when you get the ball about 25 times a game you are bound to stuff the odd one up. He has improved his disposal heaps this year and he is a real goer.

I have a punt on a lot of possession type bets among players and know that Sydney lock down a lot of teams in terms of possessions. The most any player gets in usually 20 even the top possession gatherers so for him to get 25 with 20 kicks is a fantastic effort!
