I remember going nuts when he kicked that goal Murraj. Eh, I was going nuts for that entire quarter. It was amazing how 40,000 odd Saints fans were even louder than 70,000 odd Collingwood fans the night before.

I was right behind it at the cheersquad end, just saw that bald head pop through and see the ball sailing through and for the first time watching a preliminary final a tiny bit of comfort settled in. The 04, 05, 08 and 09 were highly stressful it was such a relief that night to have a non-stressful prelim final (After halftime anyway)

That game also had my favourite Zac Dawson moment when he smothered Barry Hall trying to snap.

Ah screw it lets enjoy the highlights!

Wow, that video does no justice whatsoever to the atmosphere. It was possibly the best atmosphere of any game I've ever attended. The Saints fans were so loud that night.

Oh man, I forgot the Riewoldt goal at about 8 minutes. Vintage.

Man we missed Schnider this season.

Now I am depressed. So far from that form or promise now. We were so good.

:(

You know I felt like that at the start of the year, and I was starting to worry that I was waning off football when matches weren't interesting anymore and we weren't up there for a flag. However I then did what I did as an 8 year old kid in 2000, enjoy the game for the game and not premiership points, enjoy the last few years of our retiring champs and start to think about the future with our vibrant new players.

Basically it came down to if I treated every year like it was meant to be 2009 then football would become a very depressing medium for me, but if I treated every year like the 8 year old me treated 2000, that is not worried when we lost and singing the Saints song until Richmond from Spencer Street after seeing my first win then i'd be right.

GoOd point, well made. I think this was the first year you could enjoy without requiring success as the game plan was actually exciting.

2011 - my god you needed to win to make sitting through it worth while.
