Tiger fans might be interested to know (if u didn't already) that this Saturday marks the SANFL assistant coaching debut of Brian Leys with the Port Adelaide Magpies (although I'm sure if u asked Brian, he'd tell you he practically coached the team in his premierships years with Port in the mid-late 90s).

Leysy quickly became a legend in his time with Port and I figured he might have been a similar cult figure among Richmond supporters.

Although he did play for us through our bleak time, I always liked him. He represented the kind of hard mongrel that we seem to be lacking these days.

(Ty Zantuck is an up and coming player in the same kind of mould)

Good Luck to Brian and maybe he might make it as an AFL senior coach one day (maybe to replace Spud once he heads into glorious retirement!)

Just as an aside I also heard he's agreed to play for Seaton Ramblers (coached by Scotty THE Legend) when there's no clash with Port's game day.

Theres a name I have not heard in a while. I remember brian pretty well. Our close family friends were the ley's. They were cousins of brians. They were all mad Richmond supporters and they are the reason that I am a tig's supporters. Saved me from the life as a Melbourne supporter...which is what the rest of my family is!
