Geez, he must shit you guys to tears, but one of my favourite things about my Crows-supporting girlfriend is the opportunity she provides me to listen to BT work his magic, week after week - something I don't get as a Sydney supporter.

I've not seen it mentioned here, but there was one passage of play where, according to the bristleman, Myke Cook apparently kicked it 50m across the ground to himself, which I thought was a remarkable achievement, but he didn't seem to feel warranted additional comment.

Enjoy having 4 players on the park this year, guys.

Ha! That's gold! :D

We may have Vince-Mackay-Cook-van-Berlo in the team but we haven't got Otten-Symes-Douglas back in the side.

I actually like Brian Taylor. He tries extremely hard to make his calls interesting and usually has something amusing/funny to say during the game.

I do remember that call when he thought Sloane was Cook and then was wondering to himself how the hell Cook managed to kick the ball to himself.

As for Glen Jakovich, holy shit, that guy is a dead set joke. The constant chattering about what Fremantle were doing right/wrong went from mildly irritating to somewhat amusing after awhile in that he seemed completely oblivious to the fact that there could be Adelaide supporters watching the game too.

I think most commentators seem better than they are with player names until they call your own team, you notice it even more then. Even Gerald Healy (who all crows supporters seem to have a big love in over) made a couple of player name blues that were pretty uncharacteristic for him. I think he called Douglas as Cook a couple of times...now Cook and Sloane is understandable, but Douglas!?

FWIW, I really rate BT, he was especially good in combination with Brayshaw and Lyon but he's gone and ****ed that up by moving to 3AW :( Like most commentators, I rate him more when he's not calling Crows games ;)

Jako is awful. Should be relegated to some local Perth radio station where his bias is less of a concern to the national audience (like the 5AA guys). I loved when he got schooled by BT, Healy, and even Colbert on whether or not Mayne should've passed off in the first quarter. He kept on trying to make a case for him and the others gave him the national tv audience version of "piss off w***er" :D Something similar happened again later in the match but cant remember what it was.

I remember that Cook incident. After Cook received it the 'second' time he said something like "and here is Cook AGAIN".. seriously if he got a bit of hiv in him I wouldn't mind. The guy is an absolute tool.

BT is good in a team with chemistry. He can't lead a team for his life though. He tries to overcompensate for the lack of banter between his co-commentators by yelling and getting over-excited. It's just irritating and unfunny.

BT is a compliment commentator.

Needs a Dennis around to actually do the call and he can scream over him and make it lively. When he's the #1 commentator, it's crap.

I miss Channel 9 on a Sunday arvo.

Most people seem to like BT and think he's funny, but somehow I've always found him frustrating to listen to. He just grates with me, and I find most of his attempts at humour very forced.

I'm not even sure what it is about him that doesn't work for me, but somehow he just irritates me. It's not even the missed calls.

Most commentators that others seem to find irritating I don't actually mind, so I usually assume it's my problem rather than just BT. Maybe I knew someone annoying that sounded like him early in life or something? :o

It genuinely depresses me that he has a job. Its not that he is biased against the Crows or anything (ie Tony Shaw), its that he has the IQ of an ape. I'm not expecting him to explain string theory to me, but if you are in the business of providing information, try to make it at least half right half the time. Am not particularly fond of commentators that try to make themselves bigger than the game. Australian rules is an awesome game, let it speak for itself.

BT's incompetency is so much more apparent when we're cutting to Jason Torney in the breaks, who I think is an absolute class act both on 7 and his spots for ABC radio.

Taylor pays lip service to the non Vic sides and seems to not take them seriously as evidenced in his commetary despite being a native West Australian and commentating for Foxtel which mainly do non Vic games. Being a try hard comedian should not be a pre requesite to commentate, but sadly it seems to have become all too prevelant. When done sparingly like Commetti used to (You get the feeling Ch 7 have put a gag quota on him these days) it is good, but bellends like Rex, Newman, Taylor, Brayshaw and Rowe have just taken it too far.

Brian Taylor = Buffoon

Definition :Buffoon :
1. A clown; a jester: a court buffoon.
2. A person given to clowning and joking.
3. A ludicrous or bumbling person; a fool

Tell me he doesn't have a "mancrush" on Michael Barlow???
His carry on every time Michael Barlow went near the ball was the most childish football commentary I've ever heard!!!!!

Thing is, I don't mind the likes of Rex, Brayshaw, Newman and Rowe (though perhaps his SA parochialism helps?) but Taylor just irks me. Something about the way he delivers his jokes makes it sound like he's saying "hey guys I've got a good one check this out" before every sentence which just annoys me.

I enjoy Jakovich comments he knows his stuff, god only knows there was nothing to say about the Crows.
