1) John Bonham - Gotta have the world's greatest drummer so you could keep the world's best rock band going.
2) John Coltrane - This guy played the Sax so much it killed him. If he'd lived it's fair to say he could've been bigger than Miles Davis and Duke Ellington combined. So talented it was almost obscene.
3) Buddy Holly - Interested to see what he could've become. His writing had been steadily improving prior to getting on that plane.
4) Jerry Garcia - To be alive and clean. What the drugs did to that man was about as sad as I've seen.
5) Duane Allman - If he'd lived another decade more people would've seen and heard probably the greatest white guitar player ever.

I'm still up in the air about Kurt Cobain - He wanted to die. Not really up to us to tell him otherwise. Half of me would've liked to see him live and see if he could've pared back the band's sound successfully enough (because Nirvana were never better than on Unplugged - that performance showed more balls, more heart and more soul than anything they'd done prior), the other half says let him stay dead for leaving a wife (even if it is Courtney Love) and a daughter behind.
