Hi guys. Its been 6 years since i was an Essendon member (more or less since when my parents stoped paying and i couldnt afford it. I was wondering what the price is? and if it still gives u 11 home games 17 home and away plus some essendon "goodies"

Having held this level of membership since I started in 1992, it's all good.

I often take the 17/18 game membership, because I know that, with my umpiring, I might not be able to get to some home games, but, I know I can get to some away matches, so it's worth my while (it is again for 2004...I can get to 15 out of the 22 games for next year, including Port Adelaide in Round 1).

Last year, I paid for a Concession 17, $137.50. Now normally, I would have added Cheer Squad membership ($17) on top of that, but, not for 2003 (serious consideration for 2004). I am also offered **** Reynolds Club Membership ($60) and Engine Room membership ($10) as well, but, I've yet to take either up.

You still get the Bomber Magazine delivered for free, plus the Yearbook and Annual Report, little badges etc.

I remember my first membership. It was a squadron one, which didn't count towards the clubs total figures, and cost about $20 for 24 games.

I also remember if you had missed out on a home game, the last round of the year you could take someone else in and get that home game cut out.

Those were the days.

Now, it seems that you buy a membership and they try to throw everything else at you, aka Recommended Options, reserved seats +$100 internet membership another $10, social club another $70 odd.

At least we get a 'free' bumper sticker.

High Mark Membership. ****en costs me $600!!!

You don't get value for your money ... may as well pay for a Silver Membership which costs approx. $200 less, and you received similar benefits (only difference being a 'slightly' better seat in High Mark). The EFC cornutos won't let me downgrade my membership to Silver, eventhough i have been a member ever since i moved to Victoria in 1995. They say there is a 'waiting list' for Silver!

Oh but i forget .. i'm 'only' a client!!

I don't think memberships are a particularly good value either, even at the basic level. I bought one for the first time ever this year, and I probably ended up spending about the same as last year (and I had more choice in which games I wanted to see).

I would like to see more game options (say one that is less than 10, and then another between 11 and 18) and I would like to see away game tickets discounted for members who have home-only memberships but might want to catch an away match or two.

And if Levels 1-2 aren't full at Docklands by the end of the first quarter, OPEN THEM UP.

And give us something better than a lapel pin. Collingwood members all get hats.

Perhaps the real reason why membership is declining is because people don't like being treated like a number.

the thing i don't like about membership, especially with my reserved seat at colonial, is that people who turn up on the night can get better seats than us.

I have just bought an interstate membership for 2004 after a 7 year break. It cost me $71 and basically all I get is a sticker and voting rights.

At least it isn't like EPL in the UK where memberships cost $2000 a year.

Going to apply for a Silver Con 18 for next year.

I'm unsure of the wording regarding it though - does it actually guarantee you a gf ticket if we make it, or just the opportunity to queue up and maybe miss out ?

Guarantees you a GF ticket ... but you still have to line up. You won't miss out if you line up.

Yep excellent.

Ive been "bronze" for 10 years now, with the 11 home game package and the reserved Premium A seating plan...

Done me fantastic service, and ive enjoyed it imensely over the years. Met plenty of new fellow Bomber friends, and from the wing, about half way up level one, at an affordable price, its a fantastic place to watch football from.

:D
