Broughton the forward

He did very well on the weekend. Provided an option, took some great marks, kicked a couple of goals. Not sure how long it will last with our ins to come but our forward line didn't look anywhere near as shakey with him up front.

Yes his one on ones with Fletcher were interesting. Fletcher is pretty fast for an old man.

Seems to be a pretty good move from Ross, as he is a smart player and his kicking for goal has been spot on.
We have an abundance of half back flankers but not a lot of good forwards aside from Pav/Mayne (who is inconsistent at times) so the move makes sense.

Could also play defensive roles and keep those sagging backmen accountable re Dustin on Saturday night...

Didn't get near it for most of the game, but yeah, he did look better than some of our other forwards often do.

Think he's more use to us off HB, not to mention as a quality defender.

But he's in my DT, so I could be biased.

Yeah, I'm not convinced. He was one of the best HB in the competition, whereas the players (Suban, Duffield, Ibbotson, Spurr and Roberton) we've been rotating through defence in his place have been fairly underwhelming this season.

I kind of hope the role on Saturday night was more of a one off.

I liked it, was at the pub and twice saw him take marks out in front of Fletch, line up for goal and slot it and I thought "Wow, he's making this look easy'. Alas, I don't think it could be made anything permanent. Do it maybe once in a while when our forwardline is looking particularly slim.

I don't think it's permanent, it was a match-up to keep Fletcher on his toes. Most likely to also try and lock the ball in up forward.
