When asked if the Magpies had the potential to go all the way in 2006, Brown, now an assistant coach at the club, said: "Absolutely.
"With everyone up and running the potential is no doubt there. It's a good solid defence, the forward line is really exciting and damaging and the midfielders work really hard.
"Then it's a just matter of being matched by the work rate and the selflessness and all those other things that make a great side. But all indications are that we can."
