IT COULD have been the red carpet photo that lit up Bleak City. Geelong on-baller Jimmy Bartel - the defending Brownlow Medallist, no less - was apparently dead keen on hitting up Hockeyroo Kate Hollywood as his date for tonight's Brownlow count at Crown Casino, but opted against it because he thought she was accounted for. Not so. Hollywood, who is as single as this columnist, was said to be kicking herself when informed that Bartel was interested. Bartel will instead take his flatmate. How boring.
