Just a snippet where Brown,under pressure got the ball to Johnson,who only had to play the ball in front of him in such a way that Browny could make the space to it.

Instead,Johnson gets collared and turns it over and Browny looks @ him as if to say,"Mate u are just ****en shit hous",even a momentary display of disrespect and disgust.

dont sweat it dude, TW's foreman will give him the report at the end of the year. This and then you can add the greasy that he gave to Bowden.

I'm really warming to the concept of Captain Brown.
Johnson clearly will lose it
Richo does not need the burden
JB has other problems at the moment
The kids (Foley, Lids etc...) are 2 years too young
Newman for VC perhaps
Now that Browny looks to have finally (hope ) got over that leg, he should be fired up for a couple of quality seasons.
Would have respect from the kids, is class, wants success, good with the media.

Other than Brown (who doesn't need the burden and has to concentrate on getting back to near his best) no player other than Richo is close to deserving of the number 17.

I also think he should keep number 12 though,
just wouldnt look right in any other number and i dont think he would want to change numbers.
Foley should be given 17 next year and vice captain,
while richo should captain us in number 12 and newman should be hes other vice captain

Despite his undoubted passion for Richmond & his heroics to play despite injury, quite simply Richardson is not a leader or he would have been made captain of the RFC by now.

Some crucial points:

Whilst he has a very high workrate offensively, alternatively he is pathetic when it comes to defensive workrate.
His tackling and second efforts up forward are virtually non existent and always have been.
Also when was the last time you ever saw Richardson physically stand up for his team mates???
He doesn't.
Matthew would prefer just to have a bit of a laugh and a chinwag with the opposition instead of using his muscle to intimidate his opponents. That is not what captains or leaders do.

Quite simply IMO Richardson does not have the mongrel and ruthlessness in him that most natural leaders possess.
Whether he is to blame or not, he has been a part of a losing outfit throughout his entire career.
The facts are he has never won a JDM and has played in one finals series in his entire career. He comes from a losing culture and wouldn't know the taste of success if it hit him in the mouth.

I for one do not want him as captain and would prefer to see a young captain like Foley or Deledio who has not been infected with Richmonditis.

I agree with Magic17. Richmond, if they are to be taken seriously again, need to correct all their wrongs. One is proper onfield leadership. That is a captain who is prepared to mix it with the opposition. Richo doesn't have a bad bone in his body. They need someone who is prepared to physically stand-up to their opponents and protect the skillful youngsters... Hang on, apart from Connors and maybe King, is there anyone?

I used to use the excuse of,"he/she doesn't need the xtra burden but now I'm over it.

Firstly the captaincy,as a rule is awarded on seniority and leadership.

As grown men in battle there should really,be no such provisions on offer.

Yes Browny has a fukced leg BUT he is our most senior player in regards to meeting the criteria of Captain.....and ALSO a well paid grown man.

God knows Richardson would be a disaster and cohorts like Bow-down simply don't measure up.

Simmonds has gone backwards and Tivendale should go back to figure skating.
That guy is the softest in the comp-no doubt.

Browny would be the type of Captain players would listen to with respect...
How could you follow Richo as Captain, a man who's had more dummy spits than hot dinners.
It's all about going to battle behind a leader and having faith in him.
The rest just don't cut it.
