Along with a lot of Carlton supporters, I have been quite shocked at the well-below par quality of Gibbsy's disposal recently. Only went at 54% DE today and 61% last week, which is disturbing considering he is supposed to be one of our better users of the ball. Considering the way he played in the last 6 rounds of 09, which is in drastic contrast to the poor form he is in now, does anybody know what might be wrong with him?

Seriously needs to be given a wake up call, keeps trying to pinpoint a pass when the opposition continue to flood back. Also needs to kick through the ball when kicking for goal. He's been terrible ever since that West Coast game.

I know a lot of people will argue this, but he'd be one of the first I'd drop. Not acceptable. He needs to be reminded that he's not untouchable. Some of his efforts off the ball today were disgusting.

At least he chases, tackles and gets the ball. True that he butchered it today (and last week) but apart from this not sure a fortnight is enough to make a conclusion on.

Spot on...

He looks in better nic than Murphy but he's not fit so everyone jumps on Gibbs...

Ask Meredith how hard Gibbs chases and tackles... Sorry but i dont think Gibbs has an excuse for today, he was caught out red handed on several occassions. Goodes killed him when they were matched up, Gibbs hovered on the edges waiting for Judd to get it to him while goodes ran off un hindered.

I love Gibbsy but im finding it hard to build a case to support him lately. Yes it will hurt us to drop him for a game, but i think it is getting close to being necessary just to let him know that his game is not beyong reproach.

Would trade him in a heart beat for a Forward KPP.

Has had a shocking season and should be dropped next week at the very least!

Yes he has been very poor but who hasn't. There are quite a few trying as hard as they can to get dropped at the moment.

Remember when young Gibbsy did a great job on Goodes. That was when he was the new kid who had something to prove. Now he just runs wide and needs a large boot fair up the Khyber. Don't waste this opportunity to teach the kid a lesson. He will be better for it in the long run. We must drop him for a week.

Gibbs is over-rated. He has grown up believing his own hype, but he is starting to get found out. He doesn't put pressure on player. He plays like a little boy actually. Needs to toughen up.

Well....

he copped it from the commentators today for not chasing at one point, for giving up and for not even attempting a smother because he thought the ball would just go over the boundary....

Bagging a player for his disposal at the moment is like shooting fish in a barrell. Carlton still aren't dealing with the massive flooding they are getting subjected to at the moment, so disposal is down across the board.

However, Gibbs has had some dodgy kicks under pressure and has been soundly beaten by Cooney and Goodes in the last two weeks. I know supporters and media were calling for his return to the middle, but his form in defense was much better.

I'd love to see Carlton use Gibbs like St. Kilda use Goddard and allow him to dictate to his opponent all over the ground, instead of matching him up with a Cooney or Goodes. When Gibbs is matched up on opposition stars, he becomes too negative or too loose.

So you plan to fix our forward structure by taking away from our midfield and trading one of our best kicks?

That Riewoldt should have gone at pick one thread might be the one for you. ;) :o

:o not at the moment, we seriously needed a forward target today Riewoldt would've at least made a couple of those Sydney defenders accountable

I believe it is a genuine option......

Our midfield is one of our areas on the ground where we have a multitude of options.

Loosing one of those players will not effect the teams ability in that are in my opinion.

To gain a pure KPP who we can structure a working forard line around is paramount, and sacrificing Gibbs for this would be benificial to the team.

For a player who has now been in the system the time Gibbs has, he really has shown very little of his potential.

Would he actually be that big a loss to the side? I doubt it.....

We don't have a multitude of options that will allow to trade Gibbs.

Typical reactionary and forgetful supporters.

Gibbs was top ten in the Brownlow last year as a twenty year old, so lets dump a great kick to play Ellard ,Scotland, Carrazzo and Hadley on the ball....

Tore WC one this year to break a club record, so lets him trade for John Anthony or a second rate KPF.

Stick to your physio mate...

Wouldn't swap Gibbs for Riewoldt.

Geelong have made Mooney and Ablett/Podsiadly/Hawkins work.

It's our forward structure and our workrate, not the cattle that is deficient.

Our backs also struggle if our midfielders don't push back to help out.

Agree with this, Russell and Walker run up the field and get exposed on the rebound far too many times.

Been playing very safe, stat based, selfish football since he re-signed.
Always goes to the side, and stays off the boundary.
Gotta get inside and provide some grunt drive.

Has to lift, needs a rocket up his arse.

Don't normally point the finger, but there seems to be issues with him atm.

I dint say second rate at all.....

If Gibbs were on the table and a player the likes of Tippet or Pavlich were available, I would jump at the chance!

He is largly over-rated by a large proportion of the Carlton fan base.....

So he goes through a rough patch and makes some errors so it's time to trade him for a forward? I think some of you are forgetting that he is only 21. He is having a bit of a Downer and that means that he is a selfish player who should be dropped? Earlier on in the year juddy's disposal was pretty poor but because he is the captain and has shown he can win games, it's okay for him. Gibbs was poor, yes, if the offer came up for a forward , would I trade him, not in a million years. Bryce Gibbs is a superstar who is going through a rough patch. Everyone has bad patches.

Your'e probably having a crack at me, well and good,
