I agree Luke Hodge is nothing but a chepa possesion getter in the backline. In the biggest game of his life this year against the roos he dropped his head and got only 8 possessions, some leader unlike Borck McLean who killed St Kilda off his own boot in 2006

but seriously ease up, gibbs may become an excellent footballer but you are suggesting he will surpass a bloke whom i personally rate as amongst the elite midfielders in the competition. That is a ridiculous statement, something more realistic would be that Gibbs may develop into a better footballer than hodge in years to come, however that statement too is circumstancial.

I very much doubt it, I love the carlton footy club and bryce, but this is ridiculous, Alot of our supporters are getting carried away, the only thing we can be proud of, is turning around all of our off field related areas in the past 15 months. Its great to have hopes and dreams but some need to be kept to themselves..fully expect that by the end of 2008, Bryce Gibbs will be acknowledged as a better footballer than Luke Hodge

Gibbs is nowhere near Hodge in 2008. Let's all agree.
We have every reason to be excited about Gibbs, but let him develop at his own pace. And if he turns out to be Hodge's equal (or superior), we're very very lucky. Hodge is awesome. Would be captain of the Blues without a second thought.

Thanks Blues fans.... most of you know a crap thread when you see one. I'm not a fan of everyone bagging Gibbs for his squib in 2007. But threads like this only encourage other fans to come up with photos like this

MCB come down we all wish Gibbs can be better than Hodge at years end but you're asking too much, Hodge is an absolute gun and Gibbs will get there but just not right now. But in saying all that Gibbs will be a top footballer, Man City will never be a top club.
