Surely the club will also move on Sanderson and Harvey at years end. Most new senior coaches will bring in assistants of their own choosing you would think.

In addition new coach will have the opportunity for full input into list management and drafting decisions. Whoever it is I hope he has a hard on for KPF's :D
Harvey and Sando will be typing resumes as we speak

It’s a damn shame it didn’t work out for Nathan. Of all the blokes you wanted to succeed he was the one.

Unfortunately though this was the only decision that could have been made however

A true Collingwood person, if he coaches somewhere else I hope he gets the success he craves. As long as it’s not against us of course…

Sad for buckley but probably had his time.
Young group so hopefully experienced coach.
Clarko would be ideal. No bullshit.
Wouldn't mind giving chocco a run if he was interested. Hard, tough, no bullshit, ferocious competitor. doubt it will happen though.

Sad day for bucks a true Collingwood legend. While I don’t disagree with the decision still sad to see. I assume he’s been tapped on the shoulder and told he won’t be re-appointed. Trick now becomes being able to find someone good to replace him. I wonder if someone has been approached already. Hopefully not Ross Lyon

I would say the Pies may already have an idea on who they can get, which may have prompted the "tap on the shoulder". l expect the club however to go through a thorough selection process.

You would think this would kill off Browns board push. After all he can no longer be the agent of change when so much within the club will have changed over the course of this year. Maybe the board let it be known to Bucks he would not be resigned in order to ward off a challenge from the Brown ticket

A true legend of the Collingwood Football Club. Sad to see Bucks go, and more importantly not to go with a premiership medal. A great servant of the Collingwood Football Club. No matter what he does he will be successful after football.
Many called him selfish, but this just proves he is putting the club forward before his own interests.

I genuinely feel for bucks. If ever there was someone who sold his soul for a football club its him. No matter the result his heart was always for the betterment of the Collingwood FC.
As Brisbane found out Bucks heart has always been black and white.

Also, some posters will get the shock of their life when the new coach doesn't bring instant success.

I think we'll get a pretty strong bounce next year irrespective of who the coach will be.

I don't doubt he tried his hardest, unfortunately more suited to being an assistant coach. Too much of a micro manager and control freak, not enough of a delegator, no surprise the only time we improved our ladder position was when he relaxed and let others do their job.

Was a marginally above average coach, but had a pedestrian gameplan which was very restrictive on players natural abilities.

His behaviour around the Lumumba incident was pathetic, after realising how badly he stuffed that up all of a sudden he was preaching love and acceptance.

Not nearly good enough...

Rumour that the Jeff Browne ticket has sounded out Michael Voss for coach.

Mitchell or Clarkson will be coaching us next year. Bank on it.

This is something of a shock. I expected he would go at the end of the year but not now.

He's a classy bloke and I'm glad that he's going out on his terms. He's a true champion of our club.

I wish him all the best for the future. I feel a bit emotional for him actually.

NO chance of Mark Williams ever coaching at a senior level in my view. Good assistant to a point but heard he has been a bit divisive at previous clubs so its hard no from me

Many swallowed the FIGJAM headlines without thought.

Vindicated!
Plenty of us were right, Gimpy.

But this should be a celebration of the greatest player Collingwood has ever had step foot on a field, who then gave the club everything he had in a coaching sense.

Despite the fact it's clearly the right move, he will still be missed by all (myself included).
