Absolute travesty that he hasn't yet won a brownlow, but I guess it just proves the point that often the best footballers don't win the game's highest individual accolade...though there is still time! Maybe this year will finally be his year?

Ive said all along, most consistently excellent player in the AFL.

His brilliance and excitement may not rival some at their peak, but his value to the club far outweighs show ponys such as Hird and McLeod.

He has been good if you have bothered to watch, right from year one.

Your second argument is rot, being the sides only good player during that time saw him cop much more attention than he does now. And he was still as sensational as he is today.

I have had the good fortune to see a lot of football over the years (actually being at the games).
I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Buckley is the best footballer I have ever seen and I can go back to era of watching Tuddenham, Thompson and the Richardsons etc when I was a young kid.
