Just saw his one On The Couch tonight and he did a Fantastic Job. Just Says what he needs to say without saying anything that does not need to be said.

He says the Same Thing in every interview.

How else agree he is fantastic with the Media?

Bucks is a master at it Dave. Although I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of his steely glares, when asked a question he doesnt want to answer.

I'm glad this thread is here, that was one of the great interviews with a coach that I have seen. A man who really deeply understands his craft and his club. Also a man who doesn't age - he still looks like it's the eve of the 2002 GF and he's about to step out and go toe to toe with Michael Voss.

And win :p

It was a really solid interview and what I really liked about it was that he didnt shy away from the premiership comments that Gary Pert made a few weeks back, resolved that that is our goal and firmly believes that at our best we can beat anyone. He shows complete faith in all of his boys and with any luck we'll see the onfield translation of that soon enough

Who do you think are the best coaches to listen to in interviews? Coaches, who when you hear them speak, you say to yourself "Jesus he knows what he's talking about."

Ross Lyon is the best for me. He's so laid back now that he is supremely confident in his coaching ability. He jokes around, and has a laugh but he's also extremely bold in what he says and his football talk is just amazing to listen to.

I used to love Brad Scott, but now, he is coming across as the spoilt kid at a party who has been playing with the toy for 2 hours and has been told he has to give someone else a go.

Hardwick is quite refreshing; can 'footy speak' with the best of them, but has a refreshing honesty to him.

Ken Hinkley is quite fascinating, and Sanderson, especially in the first year when things were going good, was really great. He still is, but obviously lack of results brings a stress and pressure with it.

Mick Malthouse is and always has been the worst - an absolute flog who shows no respect for people trying to do their job. Quite funny considering when he broke his Collingwood contract, he gladly accepted a position with CH7 to line his pockets, only to now treat his ex sidekicks like crap. The lack of respect he has for media people, and the game itself is disgusting.

I always enjoyed - and still do - Mick in the media. He has a different strategy, and it works for him, but perhaps not the club he's coaching for... But that's a whole other discussion.

In terms of ability to face the media well, Buckley has got to be in the top two or three, if not on top. He subscribes to Robert McNamara's (ex-US Secretary of Defence) edict of, when you're asked a question, always respond with an answer to the question you wish you were asked.

Best are:

Bucks if you want proper answers and insight into things.

Bomber for not so serious stuff as he always seems chilled.

Mick after a loss for a good laugh.

Came to this board hoping this thread would be here.

I love listening to interviews with Buckley. I also think he's a very impressive person.

Really hope he wins you guys a premiership one day.

Cheers buddy.

Love listening to Buckleys interviews. Speaks so well and you just know the club is in good hands. The list of young blokes he rattled off got me rather excited. Our future is very bright but we just need some luck with injuries.

Would you say he is better than Tony Shaw?
