Hi all

Expect some bad news to come from the club re both these players. Story doing the rounds is that Bucks has tendonitis in both hammies and may be rested for the year - worst case senario is that it may all be over for him.

Ben Johnston is still suffering from his last concusion - reaction times have not improved since it last happend. Club worried about his health. Both players to undergo scans this week. Hopefully scans clear both players.

As stated in the trading thread, Ryan Lonie being chased by a number of clubs. Mike not a big fan of his so deal more than likely to be done - possibly with Bulldogs who seem the most keen.

Jono has looked very off since resuming , Bucks had one leg heavily iced up after the game and playing on the Dome wouldn't be good for tendonitis problems.
Wouldn't have thought the dogs would be interested in another midfielder runner.

not very good news at all

i love Johnno as a player but agree he has done jack since coming back into the side, should be rested for a few weeks

Not good news at all. Hopefully Bucks can get over this over the pre-season, while it is obvious that Johnno needs to be rested because since he has come back from injury he has done very little out on the footy field.

Lonie is a good player it will be sad to see him leave if he does at all. a trade will however be warranted as he has not shown anything and unless we changing the coaching staff he will not improve. Jono is a good player and it was obvious that he was carrying an injury of some kind!

shame about bucks! hope he plays next year, if not then straight into the coaches box

At first I thought this was a stupid thread, but two things clicked. You are a Collingwood supporter (not saying we aren't stupid  ) and also that it seemed to be serious the whole way through, so I am actually taking it in. If this is true...very bad, especially for Bucks, who has been playing great footy, so not overly convinced. As for Johnson, it seems he has not been okay for this whole second half of the year.

As for Lonie - my name will look more stupid if it goes through, but he clearly is not on MMs favourite list, so maybe it is a bit of bait to get someone through to the club. He is a player who has got back on the bike and playing some footy (as is his brother) but is clearly not the player we thought he would be 4 years ago.

Re Lonie, For me I think that he has something we are lacking. Speed and foot skills, pretty good kick. Why trade him.

Obviously trade bait, but certainly agree. Lonie is lacking something though - consistency. To me, he still has potential, and is playing his 5th year!!!

As a Collingwood supporter i don't want any of it to be true!! However comes from the same source that gave me the the 'Eddie putting the Footy department on notice' story.

As for Ryan Lonie - i personally think the club should keep him. He is exactly what we need re skill & pace - just needs to be taught how to put his head over the ball as i believe it is a technique thing rather than a courage issue. The bad news for Ryan is that MM does not rate him at all.

agree with Murray

Lonie may have speed and a good kick, but he is soft, and doesnt find the footy enough, and lacks smarts, i was watching at one stage on friday night we had it on the back flank, and lonie and wakelin were standing about 10m apart, Jason Cloke had the footy and it was obvious the switch was on, and wakelin was screaming for lonie to move across the ground to be the second link going forward.....it was cloke or maxwell who had it and in the end they turned it over

but what im trying to say is that lonie is definitely tradeable....we havent got the best out of him, i doubt we will, time to move on

You have a good strike rate currently so I'm prepared to listen(read) , but I would severely doubt tendonitis in the hamstrings is something that would make you retire (even if you're 33 and have bad one's) , I'm not a physio but I would think it's purely a management issue.

well the hammy he had iced is the same as he had operated on and his done that after every game since coming back.

its just a safety thing theres nothing more to it.

ben johnson is fine aswell his jsut unfit and finding it very hard to find his feet the word is johno will have a run at willy and to be included will be o'brien to try and give us the run out of the backline.

well if the way he is playing is fine, i'll go he

deserves to be back in blue and gold this weekend, needss to get it right

Disgraceful player management bringing BJ back into the side when unfit. He should have either been rested a few more weeks or returned through the VFL. The medico's should be shot.

Or is it MM coaching in desperation to save his arse?
Why is Tarrant playing?
Why was Walker picked if he has bone spurs?

I find it hard to believe that the medico's are that bad. I too wonder if MM is overrinding them.

Look at the very first post in this thread pea brain.
Before you start abusing people Murray, which you always seem very keen to do, how about you open your mind to the possibility that the thread starter was passing on a rumour.

Purple. Monkey. Dishwasher.

Who helps you get out of bed in the morning?
Have you ever wondered about the rumours % right on this board? slim to none and this is another most probably.
Pea brain, that's a good one but would have expected more from a man of your intelligence
