just wondering your take on this... his falcones team has only lost one match into the year, hes looking to be an assistant coach
question is should Geelong give this great champion of ours a shot at it?
I like the thought for a few reasons,
1. the man can coach
2. hes great at developing players and would have alot of know how when draft day comes (especially in this very lean draft)
3. former cats champion would love to have him at the club
4. with hinkley likely to be out theres a position up for grab

your thoughts on this?

Over here in Perth he had a bit of a mouth on him at Peel Thunder and put a lot of people offside and actually didn't do that well under pressure. He was my favourite player in the 90's but not sure if he'd have the right stuff to be a coach at any significant level such as Geelong.

All very good points, but rumour has it that there's two major things at Kardinia Park that Buddha sees as sticking points for a return to the club - one is Steve Hocking and the other is Mark Thompson.

Apparently he won't be back while they are around. :(

Don't ask me to quote sources, it takes all the fun out of rumours and hearsay - which is all this is as far as I know.

Buddha seems to have issues with quite a few people.

Could it be that maybe Buddha is the issue?

Great player/coach, but I'm not sure the box is big enough for his ego.

The one with Steven is an entire family related one [in favour of Buddha].Give DerWayne Russell a ring,it's probably been 2 months since he told the story for the 100th time.

We already have Lappin and McCartney as midfield coaches we dont need another. Ron Watt is the development man and Dale Amos from all reports is doing a fantastic job with the kids.

not sure about laidley, couple of good mates of mine tell me he hates anyone that has an ounce of talent, and is apparently an expert at destroying potential. looking at things, hes had 5 or so years, had his time to build a list, had alot of talent that could have developed into something but it didnt turn out well.
i'd give hocking a go, he knew prismal was a bargin at the pick we ended up taking him, he has a great report with the falcons and knows how to bring the best out of his players (loved his interview where he likened his tactical coaching to be similar to malcome blight)
