See, this line or argument is just ridiculous. If you fumble the ball does that mean you're a free hit?

A player fumbles and then gets tackled - it's a free for holding the man. The tackler can't argue 'if he'd taken it cleanly then it would be a perfectly legal tackle' - instead the tackler has to adjust to the situation.

Our game is a dynamic game, not a static game. Unexpected things happen. The duty of care has to be on the player delivering the bump.
 
You could argue it was also to late for Buddy to pull up cause he wasn't expecting Cousins to fumble. In this particular situation Buddy could have stopped, but IMO was still a fair bump.

Not official yet, they can appeal. It will cost them $10,000 for them to appeal. If the appeal is upheld they get the money back.

There are 3 stages to the tribunal system

MRP > contest at tribunal > appeal tribunal decision

Yes, but Franklin would know there was a chance Cousins might fumble, as there is any time a player takes possession of the ball.

If we dont progress into second week of finals, and maybe a Prelim if we face the Bulldogs in week two we certainly have a problem in Spetmber.

Carlton suspending players
Bradshaw and Merret out
Roughy and Buddy out
Most of Essendon out

We should win the next two games.
 
The AFL has a pretty good recent history of protecting the head. The fact that cuz is concussed from this hit basically sealed the deal for buddy. Should have taken the 1 week offer.

Good for us though, especially with the carlton outs

Unless your name is Scott Stevens in which case players can knee you in the head 2 metres away from the ball and this is fine.

My sympathy for Hawks fans is zilch after Burgoyne got 3 weeks last year for his 'bump' on Sam Mitchell, which was about 5% as forceful as Franklins was. Cry me a river hawks fans.
 
CROWS potentially to get to Week 2 of finals and to give Bock another week off too !

I think if the Crows can beat the Blues and the Hawks beat the Dons, we would play the Hawks with minus Buddy in Week 1 and you can be guaranteed that Bock will not play if Buddy isnt playing to give him another week to recover.:rolleyes:

This guy is the biggest **** sucker going around next to Milne.

Gets his just desserts for being a serial w***er. Though the bump was rather soft, the new rules will kill bumping players with the ball.

They'll appeal, but oh well.

Poor things. They are running our of options. My sources spotted Warrick Capper and Mark Haysman sharing a milkshake ( 1 shake/2 straws) in a cafe in Alberton at 10:00am this morning. Watch this space.
