Never heard more truth in my life :D

He's been a mixed bag so far - some good some bad. Saturday was bad.

Definitely being played out of position in the mid-field and will reserve judgement until he gets a few games in the forward pocket as a crumber alongside Carey, which is what I thought he was recruited for.

Well you've got him. My money says that Finnin is going to be one of the forgettable draft picks in years to come. One of those unfortunate sizes that is neither one thing or the other. Too small to be a key postion player and not mobile enough to be anything else.

Burns might only play a few good games for the year. One of them just might be the Grand Final.

Finnin won't have to worry about that.

Burns might turn ou to be a dud but Ben Finnin was not going to get his opportunity. He had about 5 players in front of him fighting for the same position. He is not tall enough for a KP and not good enough below his knees for a medium. We needed a crumber and Burns is one. I have no idea why he is not played out of forward pocket where he is best suited.

A dud is not someone that is a leading goal kicker for his team for some 5 or 6 times.

Why Finnin over Burns? I stand to be corrected but if Finnin didn't play a pre-season game then you probably would have never seen him play. At the moment Burns is a far better player than Finnin. We'll see who is the winner of this trade maybe as early as this year but definitely within a couple of years.

The midfield experiment with Burns failed. Not sure what the idea was - either to get Burns seeing a lot of the ball to get his confidence up, or just exploring a possible midfield option. Either way it hasn't worked. Burns looked very good against West Coast when he played up forward. I'd rate him very much a fringe player at this point, might play very few games this season if Welsh returns to full fitness.

Then again, I haven't seen any of Ben Finnin for Geelong so far.
