I just did it again (voted twice, hooray for me) and all it says is "send to some other person" and below that it thanked me politely for voting. It doesn't say anything about filling that form out if you want your vote counted.

I have now emailed myself the mark of the year I just voted on and it just said thank you for sending the email. I'd be very surprised (and disappointed) if you had to fill out that stupid form before your vote is registed.

It is also a joke that you can vote twice from the same IP so quickly but that is another story for another day.

Mark of the year is by a panel. Mark of the Week is a public vote.

A panel of 3 members appointed by the General Manager-Football Operations ("AFL Mark of the Year Nomination Panel") shall at the completion of each round of the Home and Away matches and each week of the AFL Finals Series nominate the best 3 marks of the round. Robert Walls, a member of the Mark of the Year nomination panel will then select his nomination from the 3 marks to be the weekly nomination.

All 3 selections will be posted on the Official AFL Mark of the Year website for the public to vote. Should the winner of the public vote differ from the mark selected by Robert Walls, both nominations will be included at the end-of-year voting by All Australian Selectors.

Sometimes I use a google one as well. I assume the email addresses must exist. The people using them must hate me.

Reading that post Vader there is no point voting because Burton was nominated by Robert Walls, so he is already in contention for MOTY.

After so many views I have not grown tired of watching the mark, and am prepared to hurt someone if they don't think it's the MOTY, or even MOTW.

I read on wikipedia (the highly credible source that it is) that the winner of MOTY gets $5000 for the "grass roots" club of his choice, the Alex Jesaulinko Medal, and use of a Toyota Kluger for 12 months.

Most sites just record the IP silently in the background and although you think you are voting 100 times you are in fact only recorded as voting once. So dont waste your time unless you are going to spoof your IP.
