Buying a PS3

hey guys, ive got one week left til i finish exams and im heading straight out after that to get myself a PS3 (finally) .
I was just wondering - from where can I get it for at the cheapest price? the only places that come to mind for gaming needs are playasia, JB HI FI and EB games. are there any other places which sell the console for a cheaper price? im also looking for one that offers a decent warranty, if that's possible. hm, there might be a site that acts as a portal for all this information, if there is any such thing, could i get a link?

&the same goes for games + accessories. where do you guys normally go to get that stuff? i just want the following 3 games for now: MGS4, GTA4 and FIFA 09. so yeah, wherever it is the cheapest. also, ive heard of people buying games for cheap at a sale for example, and then trading it in at EB and getting the game you want at a cheaper price - is that possible?

havent bought anything to do with games for years, so i guess im kinda new to this. any help would be appreciated. thanks

JB and EB bother have some great deals on the PS3 at the moment.
I saw one in the JB catalogue that looked very good.

I always shop at JB, best prices

Or when the dollar is good, shop at play asia for games an accessories. Fantastic service, and amazing prices (only when the dollar is strong though)

Personally I think this is a low act.

You are denying fellow gamers a bargain.

i.e. Big W have a game on sale for $25, EB will give you $40 on trade, you make a $15 profit.

You buy 10 copies, you spend $250, get $400 (may involve multiple trips) you get a $150 profit (if you can be f'd going to the effort).

You've done well for yourself, but in cleaning out the Big W, fellow gamers miss out on a bargain.

It's not illegal and I'm being pedantic, I just see it as unethical

JB is great for new release games.

Generally for 3 to 4 weeks they have an amazing price, then usually jack it up to standard $99.

ATM, perhaps T'r'Us are having a sale.

Example, I got Gears of War 2 (360) from JB - released today - $74

The PS3 does not come with a HD cables, so you will need a HDMI cable (if your TV supports HDMI of course) or HD (i.e. component) cables. Sony were tight arses when they only gave them with SD cables.

yeah the JB deal at the moment looks pretty good - $688 plus you get one of LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, or Singstar Vol 1 or 2. Comes with a HDMI cable too - I think they were about $30-$40 in JB for that particluar brand.

Just a heads up though that some of those games aren't out yet - Motorstorm is next week, and Resistance at the end of the month. LittleBigPlanet came out yesterday (and is pretty impressive so far I have to say ). A shame none are the games you're after, but they're a pretty good line up for a free game I reckon.

I don't think he does know. It sounded like he had no idea, which would be consistent with PS3 owners. If he did, why would he buy a PS3? It just doesn't make sense.
