Look harder, every time the player walks through shadows on the 360 version it is all jagged, and lines are going everywhere, this DOES NOT happen on the PS3 version, it looks shocking and makes you check your eyes each time it happens, a slightly lower framerate can be accepted when there is so much happening in the game, and it never gets to an unplayable rate.

I can see it when I pause the video there, but I have put a lot of hours into this game on the 360 and have never noticed it. Only on the edges of the shadows though H.

what are the 360's exclusive games with the highest quality graphics?

i'm aware gears 2 is pretty amazing looking but what else?

Let's just take PC releases out of the equation for the sake of this exercise:

Mass Effect is pretty darn nice to look at

Halo 3 (for the amount it get's knocked) is very slick to look at and has some brilliant lighting

Kameo is one of (if not the) best 3D platformers I have ever seen, the colours are amazingly vibrant

Gears 1 and 2 were / are just visual jaw dropping

Perfect Dark Zero had some decent visuals - but the jungle level was stunning

Crackdown was cell shaded and not everyone's cup of tea, but the visuals were great

Ninja Gaiden 2 is certainly pretty

That's all that spring to mind at the moment. Dead Rising looked cool, but I wouldn't call it a graphical masterpiece or anything

Definitely for me though, Gears 2 takes the cake

I just bought a PS3 from JB Hifi with Littlebigplanet and Fifa 09, waiting for it to update is incredibly frustraiting though.

Surely the biggest issues with the XB360 is the Red Ring of Death?

I've got mate's on their second and third consoles; and the guy on his second had to buy his second one as it was out of warranty.

It has been alot more reliable since they moved to the Falcon motherboard (65nm process for cpu, better cooling reduced power consumption) and should hopefully be a thing of the past when they move to Jasper (65nm process for cpu and gpu) around about now and the Valhalla (cpu and gpu integrated together) next year.

imo the worst thing bout the 360 is the disc scratching, but hopefully copying to harddrive should solve that.

If you have a spare USB around go onto your computer and download the update then save it to your USB. Then get the USB and plug it into your PS3, much easier than if your using a router (i assume your using one.)

yeh in a video link i posted about the effects of NXE it showed the massive fan noise was reduced by an extremely significant amount and also the disc spinning was slower and less susceptible to scratching...? i can't remember off the top of my head but i'm pretty sure that it stated that the NXE will reduce the problem with scratched discs....which apparently is an overblown problem...:S

It is caMo, believe me.

It's not good that it happens, but it's overstated (perhaps that is a better word than overblown).

It's no where near as prevalent as people think. You've had a few mates get discs scratched yeah?

For you it looks bad, but believe me, by saying it's common place is bulldust.

I on the other hand don't know 1 person who has had a disc scratched. Does that therefore mean it's not a problem at all?

No....it means my friends / family are lucky, yours have been unlucky. Or, my friends / family are careful with their equipment, and yours are not.

OR, the most likely case, my friends and family all lay their consoles flat, your friends and family have them standing up, thus increasing the risk of disc scratching.

The majority of people with 360's (despite what Karl fantasizes) do not have the disc scratching issue

ive never ever had a disk scratch. mine is a launch console played to buggery.

Ditto.

Heaps of mates with 360's, same deal. If people didn't talk about it on the net i wouldn't even have known it was an issue.

Definately not a major issue.

Someone i know personally, and also 2 people i know of on this board have had ps3's freeze on them requiring the console to be sent away. Does that make it a common problem? Probably not. Does it happen? obviously now and then yeah...

On the other hand, RRoD's in launch consoles are a real problem and have happened to a few people i know. All of which got their consoles fixed and returned in 10 days with no further issues.
