Um....in the right section now......hope someone with any mod powers can *ahem* remove it from the AFL section.....whoops!!

Alrighty, back in the game. Yeah I know the massive breaks between posts....I figure I have the entire year..so space it out. What a time to come back though....27!!! Pretty decent talent here:

Matthew Liptak, Ricky O’Loughlin, Daniel Schell, Scott Stevens, Tom Lynch

Liptak - between Mods and Liptak...it was no wonder a lot of girls got into the Crows. A fantastic player but was just too prone to injury. I have a 98 showdown where both Liptak and Mods made their long awaited return to footy (Mods may have come back a week earlier)...but the crowd was wild with these two,.

Ricky O'Loughlin...cousin to Micky from Sydney I think....just could not really adjust to AFL style. Not sure whatever happened to him.

Daniel Schell....was going to be the answer to our forward woes. Unfortunately he proved to be a fantastic SANFL player (bloody Centrals!!!) but was not meant to be an AFL player.

Scott Stevens....this guy was one of the worst and best 27 in my opinion. When he first joined the club he was a bit meh...and I have memories of him coughing the ball up so many times...but then one day....as if something hit him on the head...he became a bloody solid player. Unfortunately things tended to keep hitting him on the head and he was forced to retire due to headaches from too many concussions. I sincerely hope that he has made a full recovery from this.

That leaves Tom Lynch. Lynch was a former round 1 draft selection from the Saints if memory serves me. In the tradition of injuries that seem to follow the 27 around....Lynch has had his fair bumps. Alas, he always seems to turn the other cheek and just gets on with it. His role with the Crows has proven to be one of the most crucial. That link up player who does not fear to get in and dirty but also roam forward to kick beautiful goals.

For me....it is between Scotty Stevens and Tom Lynch....with Lynch just winning the choccies.

I went the opposite to you Bovo. Scotty just over Tom at this moment in time. In a year or two Tom will be well ahead.
I think you can't go wrong with either....

Liptak 100+ games, more than a goal a game. Life Member. State of Origin rep.

Club Champion

Very skillful player (when he could keep his feet)

i thought this would be a no contest in Liptak's favour

Lynch every chance to take the title when he's done, but not yet -
Too many young'uns

Liptak was the best player on the list, great player. Injury cruelled him as it did Stevo and Lynch too early on.

Lynch wins in 2 years time but it Doc for mine.

Perhaps. It is an argument of opinion....which is the point.
My opinion is that there must be too many young 'uns. If you saw Lippy in 1996, you'd have no hesitation. (IMO)

Boom tish... :(

Ricky is Mick's brother, last seen eating his way through the Barossa Light & Gawler league coaching Kapunda. Was the size of a house, but still kicking bags.

Matthew Liptak for me, my first favourite Crow.

96 was a year I may have wiped from my head ;)

Liptak was a spud of the highest order for many a season. Played some good late footy in the middle. Lynch will overtake Stevens eventually but not yet.
Tend to agree. By the time he graduated from pretty boy forward pocket to club champion, his career was over. Unlucky to miss the flag, I think Blight was keen to get him in the side.
