It's a real shame that this news has already been leaked out about Warnie.

Is it true that it was an an Australian agency that conducted these tests?
What a disgrace! Betraying one of our own. Do you think India would be holding hearings for Tendulkar in the same situation?
The man gets a freak shoulder injury.
He is a crown jewel in our World Cup assault.
He takes the Steroids so the injury heals in time.
He is not planning to cheat during a game....it's simply for the injury.
Some feminist agenda at the AMDA? wins out. (remember the PMS snide remark....Seriously...Joking about a situation like that!?!)
**** that!
Warne has given more entertainment/joy to people around the world, than countless, faceless administrators and other insignificant ppl with too much power... put together.
It's not the 100 metre Sprints here....there should be different drug laws in Cricket...It's just common sense.
WORLD CUP - WARNE = CRIME AGAINST CRICKET

I like Warnie no matter what he did. He is a great player for Australia.

That's where you're wrong. Warnie took the dieretic for weight loss and not for the miracle recovery. Get your facts straight first.Originally posted by TheMase
I hardly see this as turning our backs on Warne.
This is just facing the true facts. He is going to get suspended and probably for a lengthy amount of time.
Whether or not he took it to reduce weight is not the issue. The issue is that it is a banned substance. And I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that he didn't know what it was.
Suzi, the stuff he took flushes other drugs out of his system. Do you remember that miracle recovery he made? How suddenly he was playing the last 2 VB matches after looking like he would miss out of the world cup? I think he took the roids and flushed them out with this other drug.
My mum gave them to me so I took them?
Give me a break, how old is he again?![]()
I couldn't care less what the general attitude of Australians are but i know it's moronic to compare a few athletes who make their own decision to take whatever for specific reasons as opposed to systematic doping on a national level which has far more sinister reasons. Even worse suggesting Warne trying to heal an injured shoulder is anything like those others.Originally posted by nicko18
unfortunately, this moronic attitude is far too prevelant in our society, and it is why we are the laughing stock of the world when it comes to anything drug related, and why we are the first to hound down the likes of the east germans and the chinese swimmers. but if an aussie should do it, the rules should then be changed to allow it!

Even worse suggesting Warne trying to heal an injured shoulder is anything like those others. Tell me exactly how what Warne did, would give him an unfair advantage in any particular game of CRICKET he would play in?
Betrayed...

what are the facts ?
fact1.warne took a tablet which can be used to hide the use of steriods.
fact2.shane does his shoulder 3-4 weeks later he is back whereas these type of injurys take months not weeks to heal.
fact3.warne has stated he would do ANYTHING to be fit for the world cup.
fact4.my mom excuse is no excuse.all the players have been educated when it comes to the medical side of things.
fact5.of coarse his mom would support her son no matter what.

These are not facts. They're all petty excuses which you have gotten off articles that were ill informed.Originally posted by tiger of old

The "B" sample was always going to be positive (unless there was a switch to protect him) because he has already admitted to taking the tablet. The fact that need to be brought out are why he took it. Was it, in fact, to mask some steriods or whatever that he took to get over his shoulder injury (would a blood test still contain traces of steroids if he was to submit to one now)? Or was it just an innocent (read stupid) act by someone, who for some reason, wanted to play a game of cricket in a dehydrated state?Originally posted by tiger of old
