Nothing bitter about it, just sweet. I embrace good games from all players. Why would any genuine Geelong fan be disappointed or annoyed by that?
Like many who have been critical of Byrne's inclusion in the team if he's not performing consisently at a level required of an AFL level then he can politely farrrk off, my view on that is never gonna change. My only concern is for Geelong and how his output affects our results. And that goes for any present or future player, there's nothing personal about it. Provided he keeps this up, his more than welcome to remain on the team.![]()
So if he keeps kicking 2-5 goals a game and picking up 25 plus touches he can keep his spot? Do judge others in the team by such standards?
Seriously, Byrnes is a fringe player. Always was, and probably still is. Every single club has them, even this Geelong team. And as far as fringe players go he has been very decent for us.
Yet despite this, many Geelong fans have completely pissed on him for years now. You would think he has been wearing another teams guernsey.
But anyway, good on him, it must be sweet. He has been openly dissed and he would be aware of that. He deserves all the kudos he gets from from this weekends performance.
