Nothing bitter about it, just sweet. I embrace good games from all players. Why would any genuine Geelong fan be disappointed or annoyed by that?

Like many who have been critical of Byrne's inclusion in the team if he's not performing consisently at a level required of an AFL level then he can politely farrrk off, my view on that is never gonna change. My only concern is for Geelong and how his output affects our results. And that goes for any present or future player, there's nothing personal about it. Provided he keeps this up, his more than welcome to remain on the team. :thumbsu:

So if he keeps kicking 2-5 goals a game and picking up 25 plus touches he can keep his spot? Do judge others in the team by such standards?

Seriously, Byrnes is a fringe player. Always was, and probably still is. Every single club has them, even this Geelong team. And as far as fringe players go he has been very decent for us.

Yet despite this, many Geelong fans have completely pissed on him for years now. You would think he has been wearing another teams guernsey.

But anyway, good on him, it must be sweet. He has been openly dissed and he would be aware of that. He deserves all the kudos he gets from from this weekends performance.

Bomber got it right when he said Burns should've been the second small forward in last year Grand Final, not Varcoe who was woeful.

It's great that both are now realising their potential. They both deserve to be in the team now, Stokesy will need to work hard now.

Maybe he was referring to Stokes, not Varcoe... not sure who had the poorer game.

Those Stats posted by Eliiiiza are very impressive - by any standard. I did not realise just how consistent he has been this year.

He also has the bonus of leg speed - and if Varcoe and Wojo play in the same side Geelong have added something they have been missing somewhat - pace (and that is one of the main reasons why I am sure Tenace was drafted).

While Ablett is not as pacy as these guys his ability to break the lines is equally impressive. Four genuine runners that can break the lines - I like the sound of that. In today's modern version of the game defensive pressure to rush opposition players with the ball, is also a key factor - and these guys can provide this as well.

Byrnes, I am glad, has proven me wrong. The stats don't lie.
