We would wasnt pick 2 and lockyer for Schammersilverphoenix said:Im not sure how reliable it is, but word has it that freo are after a top 5-7 pick in order to pick up one of the big WA kkp prospects. Now would you trade schammer and pick 11 for pick 5 and lockyer?

Unfortunately it is a fact of this trade period that contracted players can be traded. In fact it is easier to trade contracted players from club to club if they want to go home. Adelaide have this dilemma this year with Watts and Port Adelaide had it with Stevens and Josh Carr. If they are prepared to bluff it out Carlton could get Watts for zero. Simply say to Watts...we guarantee to pick you up in the pre-season draft at number 1 so refuse to be traded anywhere. Then Adelaide are faced with the problem..do we accept a Carlton round 3 pick for Fergus or get nothing!! Of course then Carlton do not have to use their pick 1 and could pick up another gun! All games and more games. So Fremantle supporters...just because Schammer and Pav are contracted does not mean they will be at Freo next year. As soon as I read that Player X has been re-signed and does not want to go home I get worried!!!dominguez said:Connolly has said recently that the 2 South Australian boys are contracted until the end of 2007 but I think Pav is 2007 and Schammer 2006.

Isn't Tarkyn Lockyer a Vice-Captain at the Pies. You wouldn't think they would be so willing to trade one of their esteemed leaders.silverphoenix said:Im not sure how reliable it is, but word has it that freo are after a top 5-7 pick in order to pick up one of the big WA kkp prospects. There isn't any logic in us trading quality players for a draft pick to get another KPP player. We have re-signed Mundy, Murphy, Campbell, Johnson, and have Hadrill, Polak and Parker who can hold down KPP position. And watching Thornton on Treadrea and Riewoldt in the last two games you wonder if Scotty-Too-Hotty won't be AA at CHB in a couple of years.
Cue Blocker ... I'm no great fan of Schammer at this point as I think his disposal is poor, his visions is suspect and he can be selfish. But he was very good at driving the ball out of defence. He went back to defence to give it a bit of run and did that role to perfection.Plugga said:I rate Schammer highly, but I'd almost take this option - pick 5 would hand us Mitch Clark & a quality on-baller utility. Let's face it, Schammer is obviously down the pecking order in our midfield as he played 8 games out of the backline, & IMO is wasted there.
Plugga said:R u being sarcastic? The only reason Scotty T alias Clive did any good on Riewoldt was the fact he was being double teamed by JLo & he was embarrassed by Tredrea in Rnd 22. Don't get me wrong I don't mind Scotty, gives us good wun from defence, but AA - u r kidding.
But heh, croad got AA CHB, so there have been funnier things that have happened in football!
Exactly. I said in 2003 that Sandi would win a Brownlow one day. People laughed at me then. People are still laughing at me but it's a lot less and includes one, Gerard Healy.Plugga said:R u being sarcastic? Kapow!!! said:I agree with Rip. He took them up the ground and nullified both Riewoldt and Tredrea's affect on each game. Although I must admit Port won comfortably without him![]()

It'll be a tight fit in the midfield and forward line now that Hayden will be back. It means we'll have to find room to fit Schammer, Peake and Crowley in with the more established midfielders and FP,HFs - especially if Mundy gets pushed up the ground.malpaso said:Schammer isnt going anywhere.
Next year the defense will have Roger Hayden and Robert Haddrill back in the side. Hayden is great running off the backline.
Schammer will spend all year in the midfield/wing/forward line carving up the opposition.
Plugga said:the name Pavlich, makes me laugh , whenever I hear a stupid Port or Crow fan whisper it in trade talk. He ain't going nowhere for 5-6 year bitches! Contracted till 2007, & will be Captain that year.....will return to Adelaide when bruised & battered 30+ year old.
