So I don't post here much, coming back to oz in a few days from OS. But I am really surprised at the silence on the Caroline Wilson article, on MM and our club.

I have always assumed that the unprofessional journalism in our country on AFL is often of benefit to our Club. In that the Collingwood hate sets us clear. But am I missing something on some of the crap we being pumped out? Many examples, but the reporting of the Beams Mc Carthy saga was right up there.. Words are power and the murdoch saga in the Uk proves how papers are accountable...no comparison I know. If I knew her I might know better, but CW appears as a maniac. Tried and true nutter.

I love the bias commentary, in a way, particularly from 10, because it makes every win that little sweeter. But the unrestrained writing from experienced writers is out of control. I say this as an Australian, it's embarrassing for our society, dramatic I know but true IMHO.

The more they hate us the more I feel affiliated with the black and white. But the vital part of reporting and commenting on the game is being reduced to farce. Grow up! Exagerations, dramatisations and speculation, the foundation of good journalism? What a joke.

We won't fragment like other clubs, agree or not I put it down to Eddie. So there you go, impervious. Eat that haters. Sucked in.

In actuality, the Age is the ONLY paper to report without sensationalism, and be mostly on Collingwood's side during the MM saga.

The Herald Sun has been the complete opposite and made itself look like a tabloid with some of the writing and opinions on this issue.

I ask because I haven't bought the Age in about 2 years, mainly because with the saturation of news on TV and the net these days, I find newspapers are only viable as a form of entertainment, and the Herald Sun delivers that.

Also, the Age sports section is about as long as the cartoon section in the Herald Sun.

As for Caro, sometimes she goes over the top, it's just strange that she would choose this week to focus on us, when her joke of a football club is falling apart at the seams on a weekly basis.

I tend to subscribe to the theory that Mick has thrown a smoke bomb out there to take the focus off the betting "scandal" and on to him - fully knowing that it's all crap. Heath Shaw's actions were dumb given the rules but certainly not deliberate in an attempt to use inside knowledge. If he was serious he would not have done it himself and you would be having a bit more than $10 on. The reality is that every player relays similar info to their family such as "I'm playing on player X this week". Obviously they are all on notice now that this info cannot be used for betting purposes.

Despite a frivilous attempt to drag Tyson Goldsack into it, the betting scandal has largely faded from view, The Mick/Bucks bullshit is exactly that and it's no surprise that Crusaders are caught up in the crap.

The unfortunate thing is that it has all come good for Mick at the tale end of his tenure at the 'Pies. I always though his achilles heel was his loyalty to players at the expense of the development of the team. Eddie had no choice but to secure Buckley for your club for the long term that he was able to get both parties to meet in the middle could be his greatest achievement at your club - which is a big statement. Unfortunately for Mick right at the end he has stumbled on a methodology which seems fool proof and at the same time has a group of players with depth that is clearly well in front of the opposition.

Mick was right - the only thing that will stop your club winning the flag this year is iff they deviate from their structure or their role. That isn't going to happen. To be honest the only way I can see you guys losing is if the Hawks got a fully fit side and Buddy & Cyril have days out. Everyone else can be countered but if these guys have magic days it might be close.

But I don't think so.

I rarely read anything she writes, I certainly never believe a word which flows from her pen or tumbles from her haggard mouth.
The only time I give her a moments thought is when one of her vitriolic fictions is discussed here.

IT IS beyond doubt that Mick Malthouse has horrified the Collingwood Football Club with the public meltdown he inflicted on himself and the Magpies five nights ago.
The board was taken aback and some were quite angry. Some members of the Nathan Buckley camp were reportedly disgusted and Collingwood chief executive Gary Pert had every right to step in as he did in the lead-up to Saturday's Carlton clash and attempt to deliver a subtle and well-deserved rebuke.

Carro is shocking at reporting truth or fact, but can write a damn good article on inuendo and Homer Simpson Grade A bullplop.

As Homer Simpson once said; "Real news is great, son, But I'm getting a thousand hits an hour with Grade-A bullplop". And sadly that is the way of modern news 'reporting', or, a very loose term, 'Journalism'.

Damien Barrett shouldn't be let off lightly for stirring up shit in the coaching situation at Collingwood. I believe he is the main driver of this. Mick is wise, and been around long enough to know his way around the media. Mick won't put himself in a situation to be compromised by the media, or to made look like a fool.

Mike Sheehan is as guilty too reporting on innuendo and lack of fact on the situation.

With that said Carro would be at pains to write an article about her beloved Richmond. In addition she is very quick to pot anyone that's an easy target. Media is quick to call Heath Shaw's lapse of judgment a 'scandal' in when it's not. He admitted to it, took it on the chin, hasn't blamed anyone but himself, his conduct despite the stupidity of the situation has been great.

At the end of the day, Grade A bullplop and Collingwood sells papers. Add those two together with a good old fashioned 'scandal' and you have everyone in hook line and sinker.

What's forgotten is the Collingwood motto:

Side by side we stick together.

The reason being and sorry this is by no means a stab at you or this thread, that the topic has been done to death. This woman has been bagging Collingwood for as long as I can remember, and her personal vandettas are plain for all to see. It's become part of her identity, he hatred of all things Collingwood, and she's now simply a joke on Collingwood messagebords.

So, no-ones surprized at her latest attacks, and few could be bothered getting pissed of about it. I guess Collingwood supporters have had to adapt, get used to and accept the tripe C. Wilson dishes out.

A bit harder I bet when you have been overseas for a while and return with fresh eyes.

It's been unrelenting the whole time you've been gone no doubt.

I hate to be the grammar police, but really, for your own good and the love of God and all that is good. Here is how to use that word properly:

Sometimes it is pointless asking the why question, for Wilson in the end I dont care why she is what she is I just know I dont care what she says about Collingwood because it will all be actuated by pure undistilled malice.

The silly thing here is that there are some reasonable points buried there somewhere - Micks conduct on the Footy Show was questionable at least - his comments about Pert the next day were down and out unforgiveable.

But I am just not going to listen when I see the C. Wilson on the top of the article.

I go online and read the Herald Sun every day and a lot of the articles about the situation regarding Mick Malthouse and Nathan Buckley are repetitive and completely false. How many times must it be said that Mick wants to stay at Collingwood and be the director of coaching but he wants his role defined first. Herald Sun are completely hopeless in that regard. So if the Age is better and on Collingwoods side a lot more like somebody said, then I might change what I read because HS is just **** now and I'm getting sick of all the rubbish they keep producing week in week out.

As for Caro, she's nearly as annoying as Craig Hutchison. Both are egotistical morons. They can never admit when they are wrong...well Caro might but Hutchy doesn't. Anybody remember the Jeff Kennett/Alastair Clarkson situation on the 500th Episode of the Footy Show? What a twat. It's increasingly frustrating reading journalists nowadays because none of them like to report the true facts and just make articles for the sake of making one. I know many might disagree with me but the only person that I've read on HS that I actually agree with and like reading is Jason Akermanis. If we could get more journalists that say what they mean, be honest and report the FACTS without misinterpreting everything or going over the same subject 100 times then it'd make for a much better reading. So much better, imo.
