I wish to play old c64 games like impossible mission and the last ninga on my PC.I have gone to various emulator sites on the net,but due to being computer iliterate,i cannot grasp how to get them running.

would anyone be able to help me with a simple step by step guide to play these games.

Cheers

You should just be able to download it and install it into a folder. Then you go and download the games. And then you 'attach' the images (disk or tape), using the emulator file menu.

I'm at work at the moment ... emulator is at home, can try to have a look for you late tonight if you would like.

PS : I was able to get Last Ninja to work but not Impossible Mission. Some of the mods just don't seem to work for me.

I used the VICE emulator

And the image from here
http://www.classicgaming.com/rotw/impmission.shtml

Extract the Imp.Miss .d64 image

Start VICE. Attach the .d64 image File -> Attach disk image to Disk 8.

Setup the joystick options in Settings -> Joystick -> port 2.

Type load"*",8,1 in the C64 (tricky if you can't remeber the c64 keyboard layout)

Takes a while to load.

Type run

Funny you should mention the keyboard layout :D. I struggled with it too but I was able to remember that " was actually shift 2, can't remember where the star was so I used $ instead (same key!) & typed list & loaded the game from the list. Ah the memories... Microsoccer, Impossible Mission, Kick Off, Exploding Fist, Summer Games...

I never would've thought of it without your post so, ta Paul0! ;)

BTW typing shouldn't be a problem if you use the emulator properly. Use the "Autostart Disk/tape image...". It's right at the top of "File" (Alt F).

Have fun...
