This comp is too oft neglected. Yet it plays an important part in state red ball cricket. I decided to make this thread as now MyCricket and Frogbox are live streaming Seconds cricket. Like Shield cricket it is played over four days usually on secondary grounds over seven rounds by next gen state cricketers.

The current match still in progress has VIC pitted against WA.
Both sides boast promising batsmen, Jayden Goodwin, Cooper Connolly (WA). Liam Blackford, Jake Fraser-McGurk (VIC) while Jack Prestwidge, Wil Parker (VIC) Hamish McKenzie, Ewan Neilson (WA) are emerging bowlers.

Progress score:

Good game to see Goodwin & Cooper in the runs. Wonder if Cooper will get his a run now that Agar & Hardie have been named in the PM’s 11 game which overlaps a shield round. Think all the WA all rounders will be tied up with other duties.

WA have high hopes for Cooper Connolly, only 20 and captaining WA 2nd 11 side....especially with experienced sorts also playing like Turner and Short.

Touch wood Goodwin gets another crack at shield cricket soon.

Just turned 19 actually. How is his club form. Who does he play for as I do try to keep up with WA Premier Cricket as admire the WACA underage red ball program.

Goodwin and Connolly. Two more left handers. Whatever happened to the r/h bat. Lefties must now double them. Whereas left arm bowlers remain the minority in cricket attacks. Rather odd that.

Assume Goodwin is the son of Murray Goodwin?

No dice. Think Sydney may turn so Short is in for Agar.
Good call. Cooper is in the runs again with another 61. Hopefully gets a shot soon.

Another spinner in Hamish Mackenzie doing well for WA with 9 wickets in there lastest match.
