AFL Club
Collingwood
We have listened to the build up, we have listened to the hype. The Blues are back in town they tell us. Look out here we come. A club now tainted with controversy. Can we ever look at their record and truly accept it. They remind me of Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson. I will give the Blues one thing, they certainly did not tank last year. The fact is that they were simply not good enough. They have lost their tradition, they have lost their heart and spirit and now they have lost to last years wooden spooner. Well done on a great win Tigers. Juddy must be saying 'Gee I have made the worst decision since JFK decided to leave the roof down'.
This post is not designed to try and rev up Carlton supporters because I hope the Blues rise again, I want to see a strong Carlton as it is great for Victoria and great for the AFL. For many many years I held a great respect for Carlton as a worthy and great foe but those days have long since been tainted. The Blues will rise again but it will not be for a very very long time.

classic case of -Dud gets Judd still crud

Judd is not Harvey or Voss or Ablett Jr or even Buckley, he played with the best Ruck and on ball division going around, he hasn't had to do it all himself. He is going to struggle with Carlton .

I think most Carlton supporters were realistic that it was going to take a bit of time, but we're heading in the right direction I believe. Don't be had by all the all media hype. I'll ask you this though, if the Pies lose this week is the season over for them also. It's round one and 8 teams are going to lose, provided there isn't a tie of course.

I'll think you'll find that Juddy went to West Coast after them coming off a few bad years. Did you reckon Nathan also thought he made the biggest blunder in history leaving the Brisbane Lions and seeing them win three premierships, when that's why he left in the first place and he ended up with nadda, zilch, 0.:p Now that was the biggest mistake in the history of football. :):D

I can't believe how many idiots are on this forum. Who gives a shi* about round one or even season 2008! We didn't pick up judd so we can win round 1 2008, judd is a 5-10 year player. I can tell you right now that Richmond are a long way behind a full strength Carlton. 8 goals last night from richo and brown (over 30 years old), Kane Johnson and Bowden also played ok, the future looks great:rolleyes:.

Judd is a long term prospect, we need him at his best in three years time when the Blues are playing finals. Stevens was good coming back from injury. By the way, we didn't have a ruckman. Add Hampson and Kreuzer in the mix and the future looks great. Let's not forget a fit Andrew Walker to add some pace in the midfield and also a 40 plus goal kicking forward in Brad Fisher who takes the pressure off Fev.

I'm a massive fan of Pfeiffer, I know he isn't a proven player, but he'lll play 200 games for the club. It won't be long until he's in the side.

Carlton carried underdone players into the game, and with a few good players missing and having no ruckman, I think the performance was pretty good.

Let's also remember the Carlton beat Richmond in round 1 last year and Melbourne the previous year, what the **** did that do for us?

Because they are proven guns.

I would seriously want Foley, King, Pattison to Gibbs, Murphy, Hampson

But do you have another 3 very good midfielders or can you even pay them, 1 super player is not going to get you back into finals

excuses excuses .... how unexpected - makes you sound like a little winey kid. Isnt it funny how things change overnight. Say it often enough and you may believe it but the fact is that your team thought you would romp it in last night against the Tigers - even with the team you had in - and had you won there would have been nothing said about those "missing" saviours ..... including the untried Krueser (Cotchin was out for us too dont forget). Get over it and accept the fact that the Tigers were just too good for your side which included Judd and Stevens and whipped your butt.

Up the scum and Go Tigers! :D

:p:p:p:p:p:p. Gibbs and Murphy will be absolute guns and Hampson is one of the best young ruck talents i've ever seen.

Foley is a beauty, king is a workhorse and pattison?????????

at least when he cheated HE WON!!! :D:D:D:p:p

Murphy, Gibbs, Stevens, Simpson, Kreuzer (Moves like a mid). Watch out for Pfeiffer and Benjamin.

Gibbs is only 18 and will be the best of the lot. Hampson is a freak. Hampson, Kreuzer, Judd, Murphy, Gibbs and Simpson sounds ok to me.

Let's not forget Daniel Rich and Naitinui who are both on their way to the Blues. THE TANK IS ON BABY!!

The future looks bright for the Tigers? When Richo, Brown, Bowden, Simmonds and Johnson retire you guys are ****ed.

What evidence exists to say Carlton is way ahead of Richmond? How many games has your team won over the last three years? Is it more than the Tigers? I don't think so. The most recent evidence (last night) also suggests that you are wrong. Please use your brains and not your heart when making statements on other teams.

On the second point, Carlton have had six months to get their fitness levels right and not be underdone for the first game of the season. How much longer do they need? This is one of the most pathetic excuses I have ever heard. Just say it to yourself: Carlton are nowhere near good enough at this point in time. The more you say this cold hard fact, the less delusional you will be.

Your better players are all coming to the end of the their careers. Without Brown, Richo, Bowden, Simmonds and Johnson you guys will struggle.

nice try at deflection

It was a shockoing month for the pies. Losing to geelong by five points, losing judd to carlton and Buckley retiring. I can only imagine how much it hurt. My dads a mad pies fan and even though i no longer live at home I heard from him every day and know how pissed he was. It must reflect the opinion of most pies fans.

Buckley out, Judd in. Would have been nice.

from last night, richmond are as good if not ahead of carlton.

we have a loooooong way to go and the biggest concern is the culture at the club of not knowing how to win.......

maybe we need to tank another year !!!!!!
