How do people calculate how much a player's price will change? Ive heard someone say that Brad Johnson only needs to score 54 next week and he his price wont change at all.

How can people be so accurate? I know that some of my players will increase in value, but i got no idea how much by.

What was last years formula?

It changed on a weekly basis depending on the avg points scored overall that round.

Basically the value a player is, divided by the 'magic number* = their score required to break even. Take their 3 week average and subtract it from this break even value to determine their rise (+) / fall (-)

It can be useful in deciding on when to pick up a gun who had 1 bad week, or when to trade off a player used as a cash cow.

Personally after spending a lot of time on the formula last season, I don't feel knowing it perfectly is highly beneficial as you need to score points to do well overall. It helps to have a general idea of it but the game will tell you the players price change at the end of a round, the good DTers know when to pounce on star players anyway.

I was only going by how they've valued the player on last year's average.

Johnson averaged 100 last year and his total so far this year is 246, so to break even he'll need a total of 300, hence the 54.

Hope that makes sense. Could obviously be wrong though.
