Got a call from the Richmond Call centre about 1 hour ago asking me to donate cash to be in the draw to win 30 grand. I have to say the call centre have balls of steel to ask a member, considering how the year is going, our opinion of the team and how we think the team has been travelling.

All I can say is if I worked there then I would not ask that to us considering the position we are in.

Yep, they are just doing their job. if nobody called then people would be outraged that they weren't doing their job.
All it requires, if you don't want to partake, is a polite "No thankyou, not this time".

You would if it was your job, otherwise you get sacked or at least an official warning.... At the end of season, you might even get traded/delisted. Mind you, it's not your fault, it was probably the manager/coach who made you do it.....

Then you wouldn't be working there. These people more than likely don't support the club, and work for a third party. Just doing their job.

I got the exact same call after "the fantastic win against GWS" (<-- insert motivated female telemarketer voice, like we won a grand final) and I said call me in 3 weeks, never got called again.

But she was genuine and I paid up and will win the $30,000. Almost guaranteed!!!

My current fav is asking them to confirm which version of windows I have. Say I get for privacy reasons they cannot conform my serial number, but surely they can tell me what version I have. Then what ever they say I tell them something different, and act all confused and so on

My view is every minute I occupy this fools is one less minute they can ripe off someone like my nanna

I once told a telemarketer that was trying to sell a new phone plan that we didn't have a phone. There was silence then he asked 'well what are you talking to me on'? I said 'I'm receiving this call via ESP'. He hung up.

Well i had to congratulate her for asking me that question. She seemed sure we would win this weekend and I basically just said you cant be sure of anything this season.

Because they keep effing ringing!!!
Often get an 02number call, call centre so dont answer, then next day around the same time, same number calls, this usually goes on for days, sometimes mixing it up and calling later at night, until i answer to say im not interested.

Got a call today asking to buy one of the $200 Raffle tickets for the "exclusive" draw of only 3000 tickets....
Initially was a little annoyed, i wanted to fire "Cheeky!, How about you guys re-emburse me for the two broken remote controls and the heartache this club has dished up this year"......
But alas i couldn't, the lady on the other end (Joy i think her name was..... Fitting if it was) was an absolute gem. Polite, chatty, enthusiastic and almost got me to bite (Just started building our first home so bit tight atm), i informed her that i couldn't at the moment for this reason and she didn't push, wished me a good day and finished with a Go tiges.
