Hi all,

As some of you may know, I’ve been a doing a fair bit of blogging on the front page. I’ve been keen to do some interviews with interesting personalities in the footy world. So far I’ve managed to get Emma Quayle and Eugene Arocca and those interviews were well received.

But obviously I don’t know all clubs in detail and that’s why I’m posting here.

Who would you like to see interviewed? Who at your mob do you feel has a story to tell that would interest and inform not just readers from your side, but neutrals too?

Obviously everyone would to hear from big names like Lance Franklin or Kurt Tippet or Joel Selwood but the reality is the clubs usually strictly control their media exposure.

What I’m interested in is that something special other people might not know about – a young bloke you feel is set to have a breakout season, perhaps a recruiter with a knack for getting gems late, or even an administrator you feel deserved recognition.

So let’s have some suggestions but please know that although I’ll try my best, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to get any or all of these.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

I reckon Chris Connolly would make for a very interesting interview. He has natural charisma, and would have a great story to tell. Part of the Melbourne revival in the 1980's as a player, his career was cut short by injury. He then went and coached Fremantle, a struggling club at the time who turned everything around off-field. He has now returned home to Melbourne, another struggling club who appears to be turning a new page both off and on field.

For a player, I'd be interested to hear from Brent Moloney. Drafted to Geelong, where he spent a couple of years developing, he was then traded to the club he supported as a kid. He played in a couple of finals for us, and also a couple of spoons. He been riddled by injury at times but has fought back well. It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on the different paths that Melbourne and Geelong have taken since he got traded. Who knows, he could very easily have become a dual premiership player had he stayed.

brent moloneys switch from geelong to melbourne, aaron daveys inaugaral b&f win

also cameron schwab, not a player as such but would be an interesting interview to read imo

Jim Stynes maybe?

Ricky Petterd on the near dying thing.
Jack Grimes. doesn't get any media exposure but we love him

Nathan Jones. you could do a blog on how trading and departures affect players still at the club -nathan made a twitter comment about 3 of his closest friends (Buckley, Valenti and Mclean) no longer being at the club

or Pia Miller

Joel Hocking – Fitness Manager or Valeri Stoimenov – Strength and Conditioning Coach

I'd love a story on their plans for the summer. How do they build fitness v strength in such young players. How do they protect injuries especially the big ones like OP and stress fractures.

Don McLardy would be interesting, does a mountain of work behind the scenes from what I can gather, particularly having stepped in for Jimmy. Someone I don't know alot about that deserves some recognition.

I'd love to hear about Schwabby though. Started with the Dee's with Gutnick at the helm before being sacked, was around for the salary cap breaches when the concept was introduced, made Freo a marketing powerhouse, and returned to where he started and doing a pretty damn good job saving the club.

Could you interview Luke Ball for us? Perhaps ask him if he'd like to play for our footy club next year?

Cheers.

definately Jurrah for me. Very shy with the media so would be a challenge but would be an amazing story. would like to hear about the impact his success at playing afl footy has had on his community, Yuendumu (i think that's how you spell it?)
