Hey blues, I am a west australian, and love the fact that you have given Callum a real go. I doubted that Pagan could make a "dirty dozen" out of your misfits but he has done a better job than Lee Marvin. Thanks for todays game and I hope TLo (wags the dog....the tongue thang) lights it up for you aswell.

Callum has always been a good player who hasnt had the opportunities down at West Coast because there midfield line up is rock solid. The only that worried me was he kept on running WAY in front of the ball.

Went to yesterdays match, didnt do it once.

Good signs? I think so. But I dont hope ;)

His ability to slot home goals from midfield/outside 50 is a very welcome addition to our team that's for sure. And his pace!

Was great hearing the 3AW commentators say we outran Melbourne at times in yesterday's game.

Have always liked Chambers, watching him from afar over here in Victoria.

Good to see him getting his opportunity to play some top footy at the Blues, and he really has been crucial in both Wizard Cup matches so far!

His supergoal yesterday was timely, timely, timely... :D

Would he lead the AFL in supergoals?

I think he'll turn out to be one ofthe finds of the year(especially considering we only gave up ick 57 for him), and hopefully can play several years of good footy for the blues.

As long as I can remember in recent times, we have been renowned for fielding a team who is hard at the ball but never has the pace to match other sides. His speed has been blistering up the corridor and out on the wing and brings some much-needed attributes to our side.

Interesting to look back on the trade period and see both Chambers and Morrison, two Eagles midfielders/wingmen get offloaded due to not making much of an impact any more. Morrison was given to the Pies for pick 37 and certainly had a lot more wraps on him then Chambers, but I would've happily chosen Chambers over Morrison.

Lajon, try pick 7 and Bo Nixon.

The pies relinquished pick 7 and Bo for pick 10 and Chad Morrison. So the trade was of high value for the pies. they'd be hoping for a significant return given all that

how impressive is this guy first up?? early days, so lets not be hastey. but jeez! i still can't believe how quickly carlton have improved under Pagan! no picks, no cash to offer lucriative offers - and they have leaped frog about 8teams and look set to maybe take one or two more! next year Carlton will have alot of decent fringe players begging to come to play for them. they will all be looking at Scotland, Bannister, Chambers, mcgrath, and to a lesser extent Morrell, & Johnson - then throw in Fevola & Houlihan who both we not a penny of the player they are now B.P (Before PAGAN).
A great coach for a great club :)

yea, sorry mate, you're exactly right

I totally forgot about that and simply looked at the pick the Eagles ended up gettingas part of the deal.

Just the sort of player we needed, a goal kicking midfielder. I thought Stevens would play more up forward last year but Pagan seems to like him mopping up at the back when he's not on the ball.

Starting to get some options in front of the big sticks.

At Carlton, Justin Murphy didnt have too many great qualities but one thing he was very good at and which he left a hole in our side with, was his ability to kick a goal from outside fifty metres. We have a few players who can do it but I cant think of anyone at carlton except Fevola who have the ability to hit the target as succesfully as Callum has shown in the past few games. He just seems to have so much confidence kicking at goal (which is something we need). So often carlton muck around with the ball in the forward line when all they should be doing is shoot. Callum backs himself and scores which is, in my opnion, what a good footballer should be doing.

I think now our midfield is starting to show good signsand depth it may allow more time for Campo to play on a wing or HFF and create goals as well as kick a few himself something he used to do when he was given a more free roaming job.

It's the first time to see Chambers in action last Sunday. He really impressed with his long kicking skills and it is great to see a Blues' midfielder be able to consistently kick goals outside the 50 mts. arc.

While it is good to have a potential match winner at Draft pick 57, I hope he can man up as well when we don't have the ball and are swimming against the tide.

Chambers looks very good so far,he seems to have good skills and speed and looks to be what we need in a midfielder cum forward.Lets hope he can keep this up in the real season.

Chambers is a quality player and a good bloke. Well liked and respected at the Eagles and in another era would probably have been a walk up start in our midfield.

Very good pick-up by the Blues and I'm confident you'll get very good service out of him as he will relish the opportunity to play top level footy every week.

If he has a flaw to his game it's that he does tend to run ahead of the ball a bit but I don't think it's a major issue.

Good luck to him.

Always liked Chambers and for that matter Morrison

I was glad to see Chambers go to another club as it seemed that a few of the younger player like Butler and Waters (Rising star Nominees last year) had passed him in terms of playing in the midfield.

But more to point was that we needed a defensive midfielder as in Stenglien

Carlton on the other hand needed an attacking one so he was a great pickup for the Blues

Wish him all the best in his career with your club

I really like watching Chambers play for the Eagles. Great pickup for the Blues. Im glad to see him taking his opportunities as they arise, just like he did at the Eagles, even if they were scarce back then.

Go Callum...much respect!!!
