Am I the only one that is rarely interested in narrow angle shots except during ball-ups or centre clearances?

Seems like every time someone takes possession of the ball, or there's a contest of any description that the camera angle goes in on a tight shot. Much prefer the high angle or end on views (behind the goals) that let you see what's going on outside of the immediate area around the player with the ball.

TV can often make a player with the ball look like a hesitant gumby, or clueless, when the reality is that there are no guys upfield running to provide an option. Would love to see much more of the game covered with wider angle shots. Would be easier to see who is really putting in the hard yards, and how the players are working together to make space for each other.

I guess it'd make it much easier for coaches reviewing the vision to work out the structures and strategies other teams are using, so maybe not all a positive in that regard (harder to hang onto IP). But would make the viewing more enjoyable I reckon? Any idea whether there'll be an option like this at some point in future?

Watching the friday night game on channel 7 last week, the camera angles were actually making me feel like I was on a rollercoaster at times. Completely unnecessary. It was like the camera man had ADHD.

Channel 7 are definately the worst at it. Try way too hard to bring something different to the table with obscure camera angles that are useless for a viewer trying to get an idea of the play.

I spent more time getting pissed off at being zoomed in on someone's kneecap when I wanted to see what was actually going on, than I did being pissed off at our lack of effort in the 1st and 4th quarters on Friday night...

What has pissed me off this season is showing replays when the play has already started again, become increasingly annoying.

Deadset agree with this. They don't do it in any other sport I can think of. Save the close up for the replay when its warranted. Thats what they do in basketball etc.
It would be a gutsy network to change the way its covered though

This is the most infuriating thing by far. They have an obligation to show the whole game live, yet they piss around looking at replays of unimportant things like spilled marks etc. Every week its the same and I find myself shouting at the tv - play has started again you ****ing idiots!!!

Surprised the networks aren't using more picture in picture, tho i guess it's only 2011...
