I have heard alot on this board about Cameron Bruce being soft and not a hard ball getter. This guy is 190cm tall and not really an under the pack type player. The same a Judd really. But he would easily be one of the most gifted players on the ground, sensational ball skills and an ability to kick freakish goals as well as generating a lot of attacking ball play. He is also quick and an excellent mark. Up until he was injured, he would have had 9 Brownlow votes out of three games. He never will be an under the ball player but his talent far exceeds that point. And to think we picked him up at 79 on the draft.

With bruce is skill even if he has a bad game he still should be getting 20 touches but he is not. But sometimes when u watch him he just looks lazy like Yze they are both very skillful but they try to do these special things when they dont need to.

difference between judd and bruce is judd is stronger and more balanced and can burst through packs. bruce has never had that abilty.

bruce is more in the james hird mold, tall n skinny for a midfielder

Hird has what is called bravery though. Lets not go comparing Brucey to Hird and Judd, you're just making yourself look stupid.

i know he aint in the same league as em but physically and the way they play (forward with runs in the middle) bruce is a lot like hird. both have great skills. i'd be delighted if bruce developed half the guts hird has

Cameron Bruce + Heart = Brownlow.
Cameron Bruce atm = No heart.
He really needs to fire today, if we are going to stand a chance. He needs to start drifting forward more and kick a few goals which is what he was doing in those first 3 rounds.

At the start of the year he was burning and was Brownlow favourite, moved like a Rolls Royce. Has got huge potential, but the common problem with highly skilled players is they can be lazy.

Bruce copped a fairly serious injury early in the year which stopped his momentum. Call him soft if you like but I reckon he was having a pretty good go before his shoulder went. We'll see how well we cope without Cam over this last month of the season...
